Who didn't leave their luggage out?

We always tip $2 per bag. We only have them take the bags to one of the airline counters for us & when they weren't doing that, they would drop the bags off at the bus & then the bus driver would put everything under the bus (we tipped him about $2 per bag too!!).

If we had a car in the lot & the porter actually packed them in the car, then $20 would be appropriate, I think.

Don't feel cheap, I am sure there are more than a few people out there not tipping the porters at all!! Some don't know & some don't care. Without my travel savvy husband I would be one of those that just don't know!! I guess he's good for SOMETHING!!

Ask for cabin 5122. Our cabin was right across from a luggage holding closet. We actaully brought our in there ourself and even went back much later to get something out of one suitcase! lol
I think it's worse they are just left in the warehouse, anyone really *can* walk away with anyone's suitcase.

I don't mean to sound cheap here but how many bags did you all have when you gave a $20.00 tip?

We only had four bags and did NOT tip $20.00. I'm embarrassed to say that I think I only gave him $7.00. Please don't flame me as this was our first cruise (16-20 Wonder) and I'll do it right next time. I just thought it was $1.00 or $2.00 per bag which is the same that I give at the airport.

Please advise before our next cruise!!!! (I don't even have one scheduled yet but boy am I embarrassed...he probably thought we were so cheap.)

I always thought the going rate was a 1.00 a bag also. We have never used the porter but it does sound inviting. We have never been stopped by customs.

What is the going rate? I would love to hear everyone's opinion cuz I think I will need that porter with the way we have to pack this time going on the 14 day cruise!

I have always thought it was $1.00 a bag. I looked up on some travel websites and they also say $1.00 a bag. I have to look through my AAA stuff, pretty sure there is a tip guideline in there too.

I never thought about keeping a bag or two, our were "misplaced" last summer. Someone had put them on the Disney buses and our bags went to the airport without us! They sent them to our home within the week though. You don't take your bags to breakfast with you do you?

Year before last we took our first cruise and the porter took our bags and checked them in for us. I turned to say something to my husband and the porter had already started helping someone else! I forgot to give him his tip! I chased and I do mean chased him down and gave it to him. I was a little embarrassed.

No, I don't take my bags to breakfast with us because I eat at the buffet (haven't really done breakfast in the dining rooms for years). I eat when I want while leaving my bags in my room, then come back to my room and pick them up before I leave.
