Hi,

We are traveling with freinds and will be eating together during a week long stay. Nine people total. I will have a DDE card in my name.

When the time comes to pay the check, can the friends pay even though the DDE is in my name? Or do I have to pay? I'm sure we will split the cost most nights but trying to avoid an issue up front.

Thanks for the help.

Yep, we do it all the time. Anyone in your party can pay the check as long as you and your card are present.

We were there in Jan. with 2 friends. We hoped to divide the check and still use my DDE on both parts. This would not work. I ended up paying for all the meals and my friend just paid me back.

You can't divide the check and everyone use the same DDE card if that is what you mean.

Thats right ... anyone can pay as long as the cardholder is present. However, they will not split the bills. :goodvibes

We won't split the bill but wanted to make sure they could pay for it via charge card if we decided to give them cash for our portion. Wasn't sure if I had to pay being the DDE card holder.

Thanks for the help

This was noted in this months allearsnet news letter. Is this true?

For both families to get the discount, it must be on ONE check and it must be paid for with a credit card that matches the name on the DDE card (or in cash, of course).

I hope we can allow the other family to pay via credit card using my DDE.

Any help is appreciated.

Earlier this month, we used my husband's DDE card, and my credit card, different names, no problem.

The official policy is that the credit card must match the name on the DDE. However, I have never heard of this being enforced.

Likewise, a split bill cannot have one DDE card applied to all parts, but this varies from location to location, and more then likely it will be allowed.

I am obsessing about our upcoming trip to WDW. What would you do_____

3 adults, 5 kids, 6 nights We do not want a ton of food but would like to do a couple of nice meals (atleast). We are TERRIBLE at sticking to a schedule. Last time, (Christmas) we cancelled all but 2 of our ADRs.

We are staying at BCV. I don't want to do any real cooking but eating breaakfast in the room is OK. I will pop popcorn and put water bottles in the freezer. It's vacation after all.

Would you do DDE or DDP? We can split also because we have 2 studios. I will have to renew the DDE card.

DDE is in DH's name, and one time someone in our party with a different last name paid with their credit card and it was fine.

Just a heads up that I think there is a 6 person limit.
