Who can buy DVC?

Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster

Have just begin to look up some info about DVC and suppose before I go any further I should start with asking who can buy DVC?

Anyone from any country or just certain countries like US/UK?
And is this the same for buying Resale?

AFAIK, they will sell to anyone who has the money to purchase.

Like Carol said, they will sell to just about anyone who has the money to pay for it. Based on where you live, you may only be able to purchase at one of the DVC sales centers.

The last figures I saw indicated that there were DVC owners from 97 countries!

Anyone with the cash (read credit card) can join but there are restrictions - for example, we had to purchase while we were physically in the United States.

There are members from all over the world - "hi from New Zealand".

We're in Mexico and had no problem buying over the phone....maybe it depends on which Country you are from.

There are some countries, just like some US States, that do not allow you to purchase DVC Directly by mail or phone. For those countries and States, you'll need to purchase in person or via resale.

While I don't personally know of any, there may be some countries that do not allow their citizens to purchasse real estate interests in the US.

We are from Canada and DVC is only licensed to sell in Ontario. If you are a canuck and not from Ontario you must travel to one of the Disney parks to purchase onsite. Some people from Canada have papers sent to friends or family in Ontario and then have them expressed and sent back to Ontario and mailed from there.

I did think it would be very strange for them to refuse money from someone!

I had been looking at the DVC website and clicked on the send me a free dvd but it only had a limited number countries listed.
I was going to just click Northern Ireland and put my Republic of Ireland address down but thought maybe this was an indiction of only countries they sold to!
