IOA also has that neat "lab" area where you can sort dino eggs & watch an egg hatch. And if the planets are lined up just right, for a few seconds, they have that living Triceratops that you can go visit.
The dinosaurs on the ride "Dinosaur" are much more impressive than those on the "River Adventure"... and next year, Lucky will blow away the triceratops... but the lands are very different experiences. Dinoland is meant to evoke a fossil dig site in the american southwest. JP is meant to evoke the island in the books and movies.
Just my opinion, but I think the dinosaurs in the ride at Animal Kingdom (Dinosaur) are much more realistic than the ones in the Jurassic Park ride at IOA. I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I get a little scared riding Dinosaur....and I know in my mind they are not real. I have never really been scared on the Jurassic Park ride....well, not scared of the Dinos.....now the drop at the end is another matter entirely!!!
I'm glad I'm not the only adult who is a little creeped out at the dinosaurs on "Dinosaur"! They look so real! I brought my 4yr old daughter on it (both our first time) and when we got on the ride and it started going I was thinking "Oh no I should have previewed this ride first!" --but she loved it and rode again with her Dad!
...dh is a huge dinosaur fan and he likes Dinoland at AK more than JP at Us because its more scientific oriented; a few years ago they used to had exposed a great collection of dino fossils
just when you exited the ride and it was amazing so good...
