Who are the West Coast DISers?

Geographical center of BC here, Vanderhoof.

I get to DL every year but have yet to get to WDW. I think Im scared to go out of my comfort zone! Some of my favorite rides are either better in DL or not even at WDW. :(

Maybe Ill make it there eventually!

Nice to see so many BC'ers here!

We are from Quesnel BC and will be flying for the first time to WDW via Prince George and West Jet this November. We got a very good deal with airmiles.

We are Disney addicts from Langley, BC. We usually go twice a year. Thankfully for our budget, we live on the west coast ;) We are DVC members and our home resort is Boardwalk Villas. I can't wait to go back "home" ;)

We're going on our first Disney cruise in December, I can't wait!!!

Our friends and family think we're nuts, but unfortunately for them, they haven't experienced the "magic" yet!!!

Lucky you! We get out there about every 4 years. Our next trip will probably be 2011 - unless we win the next 649! :yay:

We'll be driving across the Bellingham border crossing in ... oh, about EIGHT HOURS to get to SeaTac for our flight to Orlando tonight  :yay: It's very handy to be 5 minutes from the border crossing LOL

Enjoy your week, fellow Canucks! :goodvibes

My family and I live in Stewart, way, way, way up north in BC. We travel 3 1/2 hrs to the nearest airport (Terrace BC) then fly to Vancouver (usually 900.00 roundtrip for two) then get on anything that takes us south. We head out in ess then three weeks, can't wait!!!!

My mom lived in Stewart in the 60's! I was born in Terrace.

We live in Abbotsford now. Nice to see so many west coast WDW fans here. When we went 2yrs ago we met a CM in epcot from Vancouver and she said she rarely meets anyone from the wc there.

Another Westcoaster here - Victoria actually. Avid Disney fans. Been to DL many times, WDW twice and we discovered DCL as well.

Nice to see so many from the Westcoast.

How does everyone usually get to DL etc? Our favorite option right now is via Seattle.

We fly everywhere out of Seattle - never out of Vancouver. We've done a couple of times from Victoria via Seattle but it sooooo much cheaper to take a ferry to Washington state, overnight at a hotel, leave the car and fly from there. On average we save anywhere from $1000 to $2000 for a family of four doing it that way. I would love to support our own airlines/airports but who can afford it? :confused3

Oh I forgot - how do your kids enjoy Disney either DL or DW? I keep thinking my kids will be getting too old for it. I hope not.

We prefer DL. My DH and I have been to WDW twice and the kids once. Last year was the first time we took the kids to Florida, when they were 11/12.

They like WDW and probably won't say no to going back, but liked that all the rides are so close together between DL and DCA. They love the water parks in Florida and unfortunately we didn't have the energy to stop at Typhoon Lagoon after we left the Disney Magic in September.

You are never too old for Disney. The kids have never been ones for the characters though. They will get the odd photo or stop and watch the antics but aren't bugging to see the characters all the time. They are into the pin trading.

We've done Vancouver a few times - missed the plane once due to distance between the two terminals and customs. Mainly, go thru Vancouver when using airmiles.

The last few times we have gone thru Seattle. Coming back customs is a breeze in Victoria. We've taken the plane from Victoria and also the Clipper. Haven't tried the driving yet as we usually have time constraints and the border crossing time is unreliable. Much rather pay the plane than sit in a car with kids for 4 hours at the border.

Horizon is usually around $180 per person pricey. But I sure like flying Alaska. When we went down in May we flew into Long Beach and took a taxi to DL - much quicker and cheaper than LAX.

I'm a West Coast DIS'er too! Haven't been to WDW yet, hopefully within the next 2 or 3 years maybe combined with a cruise, even! Just been doin' DL and going again next month too. This will be our first time flying out of Seattle, had always flown out of Vancouver in the past. We're saving a lot of $ doing this, so I hope it works out!

Oooo look at all the west coast Disers! Yay! I'm one too- greater Vancouver :)

Another Westerner here (Edmonton)...Love, love, love the World, but get to DL far more often.

We leave on our first DCL Dec 18th aboard the Wonder...and we can hardly wait!:cool1:  :cool1:

I was just curious about transportation from the clipper terminal in Seattle to the airport. Did you take a taxi, bus or is there a shuttle?
