Whitening your teeth until they glow

Is it just me, or are more people going overboard on getting their teeth whitened? Literally to the point that they are unnaturally white.
I am assuming that a dentist had to do that whitening because I don't think do it yourself kits would do that much whitening. What responsible dentist would bleach your teeth THAT white?

I was just watching a commercial where the girls teeth are so white they are almost blinding, and THEN she's worried and does a quick half hour bleach before a big event. How blinding are they supposed to be? Looks silly to me.

My SIL's teeth are that white. I think they look pretty but I wonder if it's hurting the enamel, how much is too much?

I have a friend who is going through a divorce. We met the other day, I hadn't seen her in over two months and let me tell you, between her now beyond white teeth, her new hair color and the fake n bake tanning she's been doing, her whole head was just vibrant to the point I wanted to put on my sunglasses.

Her teeth are for sure unnaturally white.

I know! I keep saying, they are perfectly white already.

The white of your teeth should never be whiter than the white of your eye, is what I've been told. And I agree, there are way too many people getting carried away with whitening.
