White Plains Airport in winter

Hey there,

I am trying to make flight plans for a February trip to Disney. I am looking for some help with everybody's experience flying in and out of White Plains airport and the risk of snow and closure of the airport. White Plains would definitely be the closes airport but I am leaning toward Stewart airport due to it's longer runways and the fact it does not close in snow because of the air nationa guard base. I would appreciate any help! Thanks

I personally would go with Stewart Airport. They really don't close that easily. Also, the parking at stewart is better then white plains.

We too are looking to fly out of White Plains or Newburgh, but in January. Heard parking is terrible at White Plains due to lack of, and expensive. We flew out of Newburgh last January and almost couldnt find a spot there!. We however, are still planning for Newburgh or White Plains this January. Jet Blue just extended their dates for our triip, and their price is pretty high. Do you know of anyone else that files non stop either out of Newburgh or White Plains? I have been checking Jet BLue out of Newburgh or White Plains and and Air Tran out of Newburgh.

It doesn't close any more or less than JFK or LGA. Parking is tough, but it's a nice airport.

I've actually had more problems at White Plains with my summer flights than the ones I have taken in Dec and Jan. Parking is an issue and if flights are delayed the airport gets cramped. I just realized I'm faced with a similar problem- I need to book a flight for Jan for the WDW half-marathon! I'll probably try for White Plains.... I worry more about the road conditions getting to Newburgh than WP.

Airtran no longer flies out of Stewart Airport. Jetblue is the only direct flight to orlando from there. The other airlines that fly out of Stewart are Delta, Northwest and US Airways, but they all have connections.
