White or Black?

this is gonna turn into one of those "chicken or the egg" things. lol

I can prove how the chicken came first, but it's backed by my religion and my beliefs, so I would not like to get into the chicken.

I'm fine with the zebra, because the Catholic bible doesn't talk about that, as far as I know.

Ok, back with your normal DISing! :)

Well. There's different species, and subspecies, of zebra. As far as I can tell, they all have black (or, more accurately, grey) skin, but it's possible that some of the subspecies have pink skin, NOT white. The question of the stripes themselves is irrevevant.

There's the plains zebra - Grant's zebra, Damaraland zebra, Burchell's zebra (extinct), and Selous's zebra.

The mountain zebra - Hartmann's mountain zebra, and the Cape mountain zebra.

Of Grevy's zebra, there is only one type.

...And of course the Quagga, which have been completely extinct since 1883.

I think most (if not all) of the zebras in exhibits in zoos and the like are Grant's zebras.

I wish I could have seen one of those.

I saw a video of the last one.

Okapi are in their own league! lol. Okapi are awesome. :teeth:
They're really hard to take pictures of, though. Every time I go on Kilimanjaro Safaris, they walk into the bushes/behind trees right as they come into camera range. xP

it's funny though. okapi look like zebra, but they are not related to each other whatsoever. the okapi is related to the giraffe. and yes, i only looked this up like an hour ago xD

i love them. i first saw them on Zoo Tycoon and pretty much had a heart attack when i saw them on Kilimanjaro, i love them so much.

Well, when you look closer... Besides the stripes, they don't look like zebras much at all. They have a totally different body shape - higher shoulders/lower hindquarters, more tapered face, more deer-like nose, a super-long tongue, and of course the little horn-like bumps on their foreheads.

Heh.. I dunno where I first saw one. I think it was on the internet somewhere, but it could of just as well been Zoo Tycoon. xD I love that game. So sad this computer won't play Zoo Tycoon 2 anymore!
