I was web searching for articles and such about Michael Jackson today and came across some news show where some pompas white dude is talking to a black guy (It was a sports show I think) and he asks the guy his opinion of all the MJ hype, and informs him THAT WHITE PEOPLE ARE TIRED OF IT!! Hey dude, dont speak for me! Have your opinion but KEEP ME OUT OF IT! Go ahead and say YOU ARE TIRED OF IT, but just because we share a skin tone YOU ARE NOT LIKE ME.

What an idiotic thing to say.

Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it. He is just the most obvious example of this kind of thing. I find it strange to think any one person speaks for any group regardless of race or nationality. It is kind of like saying the "gay agenda". I'm not gay either but find it a bit ridiculous to think everyone with a certain sexual preference has the same agenda.

It should be safe to say no one person should take it upon themselves to speak for a whole group, any group, unless they've been given that task.

You are so right. Thats why I like to just speak for myself. That way if (when) anything stooopid is said I have only one person to blame.

I am also white and beyond sick of it but I don't need some spokesman telling the world that on my behalf. Now had whomever this is called ahead of time and asked for my input I would have told him to go ahead and speak for me in this case, but probably not all the rest of the white people. I assume that your being sick of it has nothing to do with your skin color. There are black, latino, asian, etc... that are sick of it too. Not just one race. BTW I don't want to be reminded of the fact that he's dead everyday either. Let the man rest in peace.
