White Lie? Or am I a BAD person?

It would be nice to you to check back and see if a table that is meant for a party of your size opens up. That way, if a larger group wants a table, the one you have booked now will open up.

I do think it is an odd system, but I don't blame Disney. They would rather have 4 people sitting at a table for 4 than 2. Makes good business sense to sell 4 meals instead of 2. But they need to figure out a way to accomodate more people and not leave so many tables empty.

I think you are fine. Last fall, I went to guest services at POR asking if we could switch our ADR for 4 at WCC to and ADR for 4 at Askershus. Alas, they didn't have any. The CM said, "Let me check for 5". She was able to get that and said that we should just tell them that one of our party wasn't able to make it. They seated us with no questions asked.

If the CM's are going to do it and tell you what to say, I don't see why it wouldn't be ok for a regular person to do it as well.

You never know what may happen. I was able to make a reservation for three people (but not for just one - me) at "a certain, very popular Epcot restaurant" ;) because EVERY time I called I was told no, they could not accommodate me but if there were three of us... so I finally caught on and took the available seating.

Well, NOW it turns out - there will be at least four, possibly five of us dining! And no, we don't expect the five to be accommodated.

Which is somewhere in Michigan:

I wouldn't worry about it - Most tables for 2 or 3 are the same anyway (not always), and it's not that big of a deal.

It was the Disney Dining CM that said to me, "are you sure you don't have a party of 6 (instead of 5) because we can accomodate that!" She said LeCellier won't seat a party of 5 at a 6 top, only a 4 top with an extra chair? Weird!:confused3 You will be fine!

While at WL in Jan we went to the concierge desk to have someone check on making us a last minute, and I'm talking 3 hrs prior, to eating in China at Epcot, the CM looked it up and there was nothing available for 3 people at the time we wanted, he then said, "but they do have something available for 4 people at that time, so I'll book that and when you get to the restaurant, just tell them the fourth member of your party wasn't going to be able to make it." We said ok, and no one ever asked us about a fourth person anyway. I don't think I would have even of thought about booking for 4 and only showing up with 3

I just made an ADR for... well, let's say a very popular Disney restaurant in January. I could only get a table for the whole week if I made a reservation for 3 people even though there are only going to be 2 of us...

Is there a possibility when we show up that we will be turned away? I read somewhere on the boards that other people have done this too as this restaurant has a small number of 2 person tables.

I guess I'm just generally not in the habit of lying and I'm just worrying that we won't get seated now. Any comments?

With the way reservations are going I think you did just fine.
