White hat with sequin Mickey applique - Do U own this?

Hi, my mom owns this hat and is wondering if anyone else has the same hat? It's an official park hat from Disneyland, it's developing yellowing but she's afraid to wash it due to the applique.

She's worried the colors will run so she's wondering if anyone with this hat has washed theirs and if the colors bled or not (or faded). Thanks for any info!

What does the care label say? Or if there is not one, then I would suggest spot cleaning it with either Woolite or Orvus. Orvus is a non-sudsing white paste, that is used to clean textiles with. Matter of fact what is interesting about it, is that it is used for washing livestock too. Imagine such a versatile cleaning product. You can find Orvus at feed stores and tack shops. Possibly other places as well.

Thanks for the info. There is a label but it doesn't include care instructions. All it says is that it's 100% Cotton, Adult size, and Made in China, all in 4 different languages which takes up all of the tag . I know she uses Woolite, and I believe she's been spot cleaning but it's not enough and a good full washing would be better.

Then try Orvus, or in the event that you are not able to obtain it, then scrub the spots with Oxy Clean, then let it soak in the woolite or better still Orvus. If there is a way that you can hand soak/wash it, without the water touching the appliqué, that would be good. Let it air dry, do not put it into the dryer. Because it might shrink, what with it being cotton. Plus it might damage the appliqué.
That is rather funny, that there are so many languages on the tag, that there is actually no room for care instructions. ha.....
