hi everyone-
we're getting married at the WP in may and our reception is at the whitehall room at the GF and our cocktail hour will be outside and the reception is inside. We weren't able to see what it looks like because both times we had planned to go down our flights were cancelled due to hurricanes, so if anyone has pictures that would be so great!! I'm sure it's nice, but I will feel alittle bit better than being surprised on my wedding day :earseek:

Thank you!!! ::MickeyMo

Believe it or not, that's the room that we were given to get ready in. It's a beautiful room, and I remember thinking what a nice place it would be for a reception. It's got a lot of personality since it's not a rectangular room. The patio is large and very pretty. Here's a link to a website with some pictures, but the pictures don't do it justice. It's a very pretty room.

Whitehall Room and Patio Pictures

We had our Pre-Reception in the Whitehall room and it was beautiful. Our Wedding was May 2, 2004 and the weather was perfect. Our guests loved being able to go outside on the beautiful patio if they wanted or we had a jazz trio inside.
Great choice.

We're having our reception at Whitehall too (Nov 1)!! We took OODLES and OODLES of pictures of it when we visited it for our site inspection....if you would like me to scan them in, just let me know! It was a gorgeous day and the patio was LOVELY! We fell in love with Whitehall as soon as we saw it and we knew we just had to have our reception there!!

Thank you everyone :wave2:

Snow White- Thank you, I would love to see your pictures! I feel so much better knowing someone else is having their reception there too!!! It kind of made me nervous knowing that they used it for getting ready in!!!!

Please don't worry for a second about having your reception at Whitehall, Disneyrox!! It is PERFECT! I'm going to scan some of my pics now and I'll post them in a few minutes....

OK, here is my very own virtual tour of Whitehall for Disneyrox and anyone else who might be interested :)

Picture 1: The entrance to the Grand Floridian Convention Center. I believe this is exact place where the limo will drop you off after your ceremony.

Picture 2: This is the lobby of the Grand Floridian Convention Center. The first thing that struck me was how beautiful the lobby was and how fragrant it was because of the fresh flowers!

Picture 3: This is the hallway that leads to Whitehall. Whitehall is located at the end of the hallway. To the right of the hallway is the Whitehall's veranda.

Picture 4: In this pic, I am standing inside the doorway to Whitehall. As you can see, it was set up for some sort of multimedia presentation on the day I was there. Notice the gorgeous ceiling and the octagonal shape of the room :)

Picture 5: In this pic, I am standing inside Whitehall (the doors that lead to the veranda are on the far right).

Picture 6: In this pic, I am standing several feet back from the doors and looking outside at the veranda.

Picture 7: In this pic, I have just walked through the doors and am looking at the undercover portion of the veranda.

Picture 8: In this pic, I am standing in the same place, but looking at the not-covered portion of the veranda (I LOVE how the monorail runs so close to the veranda!).

Picture 9: This is a shot of the entire Whitehall veranda from afar. Directly to the left is the undercover portion of the veranda. Straight ahead is the not-covered portion of the veranda.

That concludes my virtual tour of Whitehall, I hope you liked it :) :)

Snow White - thank you so much for posting your tour! Our reception is also going to be in the Whitehall Room as we will only be a small group (and so don't need an entire ballroom!). I had three pics of the room/patio set up for a wedding but it's great to see how it links to the rest of the GF...I can almost imagine myself there now :cloud9:

PS JoD - we're going to share a date, my wedding is May 2nd 2006! Is there any advice you can give me about the weather at that time of year or things to do/see that are only on then? Am I right in thinking that the parks are comparatively quiet because the US Spring Break has finished? (It's so hard being from the UK - there's so much I just don't know about!)

Thanks for all of those pictures Snow White!! The room looks like it will be a perfect size (we're having about 22 people and a dj)

I definately agree with you about the monorail being so close, and I think the kids will love it :cool1:

I'm glad you guys liked my pics!! I took so many so I could show my mom exactly what it was like. We're having a small group as well--just about 30 people. I think it's the perfect size room for a small group of people!

You will be so pleased with the Whitehall Room & Patio. We had our Cocktail Hour (AKA Pre-Reception) there, and it was wonderful. Even though it was hot (end of June!) most of our guests were outside on the patio and veranda socializing. The covered veranda has fans, and they make it quite comfortable out there.
