White cat in Epcot

Was standing just outside the International Gate at dusk the other night looking across the water toward France. Where the ground slopes down from France to the water there are numerous shrubs and a grassy area. Walking along the grassy area was a white cat, it walked along for awhile then disappeared into the bushes just a few feet from where people were walking.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever seen this cat in Epcot.

I myself have never but have read some different posts regarding cats in Walt Disney World. Unfortunately Disney is not immune to people who just dump thier animals out on the street and figure if some nice vacationers see them they will take them home.. so sad
I'm sure there are feral cats in the area as well.

In December, I was eating in the outside table area of captain cook at POLY when a cat started to hang out around there.

I've seen the cat at the Poly both times we were there. People were feeding it at Captain Cooks. I hate to see cats that I think are stray :sad2: ... I have three strays myself already!

Was he black and white? If so I saw him a couple years ago by Tokelau.
WDW is a big area . I would be shocked if there weren't cats.

AHHHH!! The character fan in me thought this post was about Marie, the white cat from the Aristocats, that she has been seen in France at Epcot! (The movie does take place in France, too!). But alas, this thread is about a real cat, not a character one! Had my hopes up there for a second!!

Only cats I seen at WDW were in the parking lot at POP Century. I seen a little speckled black and white one walking around. He seemed OK, so I guess he manages.

I thought it was about Marie from Aristocats too when I opened this up!

The cat I saw at the Poly in 2006 looked almost like a Himalayan - fluffy - siamese color.

I've seen (and heard stories of) a number of feral cats over the years. . . A couple years ago there was a gorgeous seal point siamese hanging around the pool at the Poly. No one else around that night so it must've felt safe coming out, but bolted when we came through.

my kids watched this movie twice today! how weird to see this thread, I immediatly thought it was Marie too!

Was it this one?

were at the Polynesian outside Captain Cook's last week. The CM who was trying to attract them told me that Disney has a few strays that they try to capture daily using Have a Heart traps. Then they're given a vet check-up at AK, then if no one claims them thru lost and found (apparently, it's not unheard of for a person to have a cat get loose from a hotel or kennel nearby), then they "have an agreement" to put them up for adoption thru a local no-kill shelter. I'd love to be able to adopt a kitty that I knew came from WDW.

OMG!!! Another character lover here that had the same thought!! I was thinking COOOOOOOL!!!! Marie is in Epcot! I was so excited to hear she was spotted at Studios but the move to Epcot was brilliant! Ah well!!

But we did see the Poly kitty (which I named Poly in the 10 minutes I spent trying to pet it). :cat: :cloud9: It made me so sad that it did not have a home. :sad1:

LOL I was thinking the same thing. France would be a perfect place for Marie. As far as real cats, I can't remember ever seeing any. I wonder if they're taken care of. :cat:

Awwww they are both so so sweet. I wish they had a home.:sad1:

I saw a cat at the Polynesian in December (while I was outside enjoying my Dole Whip!). He seemed to be making his way from table to table, looking for scraps and/or handouts.

Now, here's one for you folks. Have you ever seen a snake at WDW? I had a very colorful one slither just past my foot while the family was an Animal Kingdom (waiting for autographs at Camp Mickey-Minnie). I didn't see it until it was headed off, but DID see the looks of shock on the kids' faces!

Are you kidding? They live at the Happiest Place on Earth..They come and go whereever they want......For free...I bet they don't even need to upgrade to the water parks and more option. PLus they get free food and lots of attention.. From the sounds of it they even POOL HOP..

We've seen lots of snakes at WDW! The scariest one for me was eating a frog while on the banister of the walkway from the boat dock at VWL. A man tried to drive the snake away, but it was holding tight to the frog, and slithered out of reach. The boat had just landed, and I think the man was just trying to keep the sight away from the kids who were following.

OMG that orange one is too cute. I saw 2 kitties hanging out at a Sizzler a few weeks ago by Disney and they were friendly and the female was obviously very pregnant. I was talking about it with DH as I walked in the door and he was giving me heck for trying to pet them, the manager told me to take them home, they have several drop offs a week and these have been here for almost a month. I asked her about no kill shelters and she laughed sadly telling me that she had never heard of them. I didn't sleep well for the next few nights thinking of those kitties.:sad1:

I am notorious for finding or being found by cats when I travel. However, the last time we were at Epcot, (France even!) we found this bunny!

cute huh!
