hi, what is whispering canyon like? I dont have it on my "to do" list yet, but I may have to put it on, I see here alot of people go!

I read to menu on allearsnet.com and seen taht they said it was themed - my questions is themed how? What is the atmosphere like?

WCC is awesome! It's got a western BBQ theme. The AYCE BBQ skillet is wonderful. Do a search on these boards for more information, and see the pics of the food above in the sticky thread.

Planning on dining there again on next trip. :goodvibes :wizard: :wave2:

I took my eldest son and my 8 y/o GD this past January. I made a point of not warning them. After we were seated, our waitress (who was sitting in the floor playing patty cake with a little girl) looked up and yelled "I'll be with you when I get the time". A few minutes later she came over and threw some straws across the table and said 'yeah, what do ya want'. The look on my 27 y/o's face was priceless. During the meal, she cut straws in half and stuck them in my GD's hair to make her look like the Statue of Liberty. My GD made the mistake of asking for ketchup. The waitress yelled 'kechup' and almost immediately we had 15 bottles of ketchup on our table. My son asked for a refill of his coke. She put both hands on her hips and said "what do you think this is a restaraunt". She then brought him out a GIANT (about 1/2 gallon) glass of coke and told him he had to drink it all. For the rest of the meal she called him "Coke Boy'. About the time we finished eating, she and another waitress stood on chairs and made everyone get up and sing the Hokey Pokey. My son and GD both jumped out of their chairs so fast they almost knocked them over. I told my son I couldn't believe he was going to do it. He said he was too scared not to, as there was no telling what she'd do if he didn't. There was one pair of young ladies who didn't stand and sing. When we finished singing the waitress asked my son if he was married. He got a look of total terror on his face and asked why. She told him to look over at the table where the two young ladies were and asked him if he thought they were pretty and if so she was going to do them both a favor. She then said she would like to get all those ketchup bottles out of her station and asked if my son and GD would deliver them to the two young ladies, since they didn't sing. My GD immdiately got up and said 'come on dad let's get rid of these'. The waitress did some other things, but I can't remember right now. Anyway Whispering Canyon is alot of fun if your waitress is really into it. Be sure to ask to sit in the main room and ask for a waitress who is really into her character. I'm taking my younger son and D-I-L to WDW in about a week and my GD leaned over the other day and whispered,"Are you taking them to the restaraunt with the crazy waitress". :rotfl2:

The food was good and even with all the shenanigans, the service we had was excellent. She kept our glasses full. When my all you can eat skillet came out, my GD who loves corn grabbed my corn on the cob. The waitress saw her and asked her if she wanted some more. When I reminded her that my GD had not ordered the skillet, she shushed me and told me 'this is between me and your GD'. She then brought my GD out three more ears of corn for free.

We are going to try this on our next trip.......... it looks fun, and hey, if they can get DH to be a little tea pot.......... well, then I'm all for it!!!! LOL

Not to mention that skillet looks yummy!!

On another thread someone who works there posted, she's a dis'er....... if you go ask for her, her name is -- Hedda Lettuce!!!

Sorry what link again can I find pictures?

The one called "Post your Disney Dining Pictures Here." It's a sticky at the top of the Disney Restaurants forum board.

You've got to try it at least once! I have heard that Friday and Saturday nights are the most fun!

you know it was the most fun we had at any meal in wdw( breakfst esp) i was pleasantly surpised with the food and the service is good which is surprising as it is busy and all the stuff going on..the wait staff must know their stuff to handle all that.
