Whispering Canyon

Simply pull the server aside and tell them, "He's the one paying the bill (and leaving your tip) and he doesn't want to be bothered. Feel free to have fun with the rest of the family, but leave him out of it, okay?" They'll get the message.

I enjoyed reading everyone's posts and will definitely make a ressie for our trip in September. Sounds likes great times to me and it has to be special cause we are taking my momma along for the ride this time.

Oh no....this place sounds like such fun....I'm wondering if I should switch my Liberty Tree Tavern ressie to one for WC. I have a DD11 & DS7.

Any comments, anyone?

I think I'm going to go look at the full menu now for WC.

just curious ...my DBF and I will be having breakfast here on Valentine's - do you think I need to make a reservation? I'd like to enjoy a quiet morning and wasn't planning a specific time for this meal....

what do you think?

ewwww I am thinking I may not be able to make ADR's here ofr DD6's b-day dinner because DH is NOT into this kind of stuff at all. We went to Dick's Last Resort in Myrtle Beach and he almost got in a fight with our waiter because he was pestering DH. I tried to calm him telling him it was only his job and that was what he is supposed to do and he was not having it.

Can someone maybe tell me all the things we should not do or ask for to keep him calm cool and collective.

I know once they find out it is DD's b-day they will focus on her but that is where I would like to keep the focus..On her not him ..Ya know what I mean?

I know he is a stick in the mud, but I cannot change him!!!

I really want to go here though because DD wanted ribs and I got some many good comments on the ribs here.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I think the way to keep him calm, cool and collected would be to let him know that it's DISNEYWORLD, which is a fun place, and that WCC especially is a place that's known for its mealtime fun. It's your 6-year-old's birthday dinner, right? Isn't it more important for her to have the time of her life? I would think seeing her dad with a huge straw in his glass and being a good sport would be more fun than everyone sitting at the table praying that the CM's don't involve him!

Wow, sorry - I know I'm gonna get super-flamed, but isn't the big picture about your DD and not your DH? Why make her miss out on the fun?

I don't mean anything bad here - please believe that.

NO OFFENSE TAKEN AT ALL!!!! :flower:

Since this post I have called him and told him all about this place and what they do there and he said that it is her b-day and if it is ribs that she wants then it will be ribs that she gets and he will do whatever he has to to make her b-day the best day ever. :cool1: ...He is concerned that his dad may join us for this meal and he is the same way if not worse but I will forewarn him as well and leave the decision to him.

I KNOW she is going to have the time of her life and I thank you all for helping me out once again.

If I had enough money I would take you ALL with me!!!!!

This is going to be the longest 6 months of her life... :sad1:

Hi~

Does the Canyon Skillet
All You Care To Eat

count as an Entree for the Dining Plan? If not, is there another way to get it while on the Dining Plan

We had lunch at Whispering Canyon on Dec 6th and it was wonderful. My DSIL ordered the fried chicken, DB ordered the chicken sandwich, DD ordered nachos and the rest of us ordered the all you can eat canyon skillet. To tell you the truth, I was drawn there by what I had read about the atmosphere and now I would have to say I would go back for the food!!

Our server wasn't as loud and funny as ones I observed which was okay with my family. We had a ADR for 2:30 which was late so the restaurant wasn't packed. I would have to liked to book a breakfast ADR, but it didn't fit the schedule. I had an ADR for bfast, but our plans changed. When I tried to reschedule, they didnt have any ADR for our party of 9 to seat at 1 table. Which goes to show you---you have to plan in advance. The lunch was very good. They did some stuff for a girl's bday and one round of pony races. Great place!!!! Wouldn't have known WC existed if not for research.

Bump to see if someone knows the answer to my question one post above the post above this one :D

Whispering Canyon is listed as a TS restaraunt on the plan, I don't see why you couldn't use it on anything you want.

This place sounds like a hoot! Can't wait to experience in a few weeks. :hyper:

hmmm now I'm contemplating changing my ADR time. We picked lunch to go to WCC and got a 2:00 ressie. I'm thinkin now I should either change it to a more typical lunch time (say 12:00 or so) or should I just change it to a dinner ADR, say 5:30 or 6:00 pm. Decisions, decisions. Is lunch a little more subdued? I don't want to be the only family in the place though!

Yes you can get the skillet with the DP, you just don't get to choose an appetizer, since it comes with a salad, that counts as the appetizer. You do get dessert too. I recommend the chocolate cake!!

After reading these posts, my excitement builds for our trip to WCC in less than 2 weeks! Now, my whole family (mom, brother, and his fam) will be with us. What are your suggestions to have the most outrageous time ever? TIA. :paw:

Be sure someone (prefeably make one of the kids) drop a fork - very funny!
Tell them politely when you arrive you would like to be seated in the main dining part, and you will wait for that. - not way in the back - for the most part I think that is for people who do not want in on the action (or get stuck there as all else is full)
We had such a blast- most fun meal experience there!

Forgot to add - don't get there too late - we had our dinner at 8:50 I believ and we missed out on the last round of some napkin/song thing.

Our family have been here twice before but the other two have not and we have two birthday children with us (my DD who will be 13 and my friend's DS who will be 10 both on the same day)

My friend has left the deciding where to go for their birthdays to me and I thought that this would be the best place. Does anyone know if they will accommodate us with Birthday cake if I order well in advance? Would say 6.30 p.m. be a good time or later?

Many thanks

Susan

Just changed my ADR from LTT to WC on Monday Jan. 23 after reading all of these reports about WC. We'll be there 2 weeks from tonite.

We can't wait!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Wow, this place sounds like a load of fun! I chose it due to the menu, but now am really excited to take my two girls there. Keep those reviews and pictures coming! They are great!
