Whispering Canyon ?

I was just looking into this restaurant for one of our nights there.. it seems pretty fun.. and weve never been to WL so it would be cool to check out the resort. How is the food? are the skillets they mentioned part of the DDP? are they just like an all you can eat platter?? any info on this restaurant and the DDP for it would be great,.. also we have 7 and 3 yr old boys.. so is it a good place for them??

I haven't had the skillet but I thoroughly enjoyed the food I have ordered there which includes steak, porkchops, chicken wings and I am pretty sure DH enjoyed the meatloaf. The skillet is an all you care to eat and it is included on the dining plan.

The CMs there are very interactive with the guests. There's a lot of hootin' & hollarin'. There are races and games and I don't know what...LOL It's fun if you like that stuff but it is not a quiet unwind at the end of the day type place.

The skillet is wonderful and is all you can eat including salad. It is on the DDP

I've been for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For ME, lunch was the least fun, maybe because it was just two adults eating that time, but I did not notice many of the other tables whooping it up. Breakfast was better and DINNER for us was definately the most fun.

My wife and I both ordered the skillet and it was awesome. It was great for kids, unfortunately our daughter slept right through it. It is very noisy but fun place. We will definitely go back again

what dates were you considering going? If there is enough time between now and your vacation, you could keep checking. If not, lunch is OK.

we arent going till the end of Sept.. so ill keep checking.. i took a 2:15 lunch just in case.. but id love to switch to dinner if i can.. i hope something opens up!!! im nervous since the reply above said lunch isnt as fun.

We went in 2009 for dinner and while our waiter was a lot of fun and we got some of the "gags" done to us, the food was only so-so, however the atmosphere and the milkshakes were very good

We love WCC for dinner! So much fun and the skillet is pretty darn good, IMO. Your boys should love it if they love a raucous, fun time.

thank you!!! if we cant get dinner, would u suggest keeping our lunch ressie or trying somewhere else... any other places u like thats good for 2 little boys. our other ADRs are crystal palace. ohana. tusker house. and garden grill.

Another place we have loads of fun is at HS - 50s prime time. My husband gets into "trouble" there everytime!!

I don't mean to DOWN lunch at Whispering Canyon, it just did not carry the same punch as dinner. So maybe if the lunch experience had been before my dinner experience, I would not have been as disappointed because I wouldn't have known what I was missing. At dinner, there was lots of yelling and throwing and stampedes. My experience at lunch was much quieter and contained.


Apparently, I like it when my waitresses yell at me and throw stuff around!

yeah i understand what you mean i think id much prefer the craziness for an experience like that! ill keep trying and hope something opens for dinner!!

I would keep trying as others have said; people cancel all the time. Good, luck and I think you will enjoy WCC. The WL is also a must see resort to visit. I have eaten at the WCC many times and while I wouldn't call it outstanding food, it is good. In addition to the skillet being an excellent value on the DDP they offer an endless shake and this can be used as your beverage. Between the endless skillet and the endless shakes, go there with a big appetite. Enjoy

I tried it in Dec.. LOVED it.. LOVED the skillet! This time we're doing dinner.... and I can't wait to have the skillet, again!

anyway, thanks so much for the info! ill keep trying! i just tried to call to see if they had more up to date info than the website but t system was down.. ill keep at itn and im very excited about the skillet a milkshakes!
