We've eaten there and the food and service was a let down. We are now going with a 10 year old and I was hoping this might be something she might enjoy. What do you think?

We went there this past May - my DH had the trout and he really enjoyed it, I had the skillet meal, I don't think it's anything to rave about. However, our kids LOVED this restaurant. The atmosphere was so much fun for them. They did the pony stick race, the hooting and hollering with the CMs. My DSs are ages 7 and 3. We're planning our next trip and this is one place that both boys requested. They also loved the boat ride to the WL as well.

We love this restaurant. Have been there twice and both times were very satisfied with both service and the food.

If you would like to give it another try I say go for it.

What was so bad about your first experience?

The food was ok, nothing to write home about. But there was no atmosphere. Our server was not into it, and we just didn't have the fun others here have mentioned.

My wife and I have been a few times but our best time was in July. We had a great server that I played along with. She was reallt fun and goofing with the people around us as well. At one point I had run out of water and decided to be a goof and make continue trying to drink it through a straw as she walked by. Boy did I get in trouble...She said if I wanted more water I should have just asked but since I didn't I had to come with her. Well there was a few tables around us and one table had a bunch of kids so I decided to play along with her. She led me over to the corner by the fireplace and there was a little alcove with a chair sitting there. She made me sit there till my wife said I could come back. Thankfully my wife didn't have the camera, I did. After a couple of minutes my wife said I could come back and then the waitress showed up with the biggest glass of water I have ever seen. and all the straws I would ever need to drink it. We love WC and return every trip we can.

If you didn't mind the food, you just wanted more fun, I have to say that really depends on what server you get. You can go back and hope you get a good one this time if you like.

DD10 and DD11 had a blast! Our server was hilarous. (We were there in October for breakfast).

We really enjoy WCC both the food and the atmosphere. I would suggest giving it another shot. I love the WL too and just checking out the lobby :)

Food is just food...but if the server is good, the experience is a whole lot of fun, especially (but not only) for the kids. Noisy, lots going on, and if the server is into it you'll have a blast. Just don't ask for ketchup!

OMG! Too funny, I love it!
We all loved this place!

We had fun at WCC in 2008 for dinner... DS3 had a great time and we all laughed at the antics. Our waitress (Bridget, I think..) was a hoot. I thought the skillet was pretty good.

I will say... that if you want the antics and jokes.... it's more fun to just be yourself and joke back if the waiter/waitress jokes with you. That let's them know you are a willing participant. But, I suggest NOT expecting all the antics and NOT to try to hard to get them to do the antics. For us, going with the flow makes for more creative joking around... And, the ketchup thing just gets old after the 1st or 2nd time...

We had a reservation for Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge and I just canceled it and took a reservation for WCC this Friday.... that I'm willing to give up much finer food at Artist Point for WCC should tell you something...

DS (now DS5) will have much more fun at WCC which is right off the lobby and DS having fun will be worth it. We already have 4 other signature restaurant reservations to bore him......

I was really looking forward to our meal at WC. I think it may have been the combination of a long day in my least favorite park, the long wait at WC despite having ADR and my daughter falling asleep because we were seated so late but I was a bit disappointed.
The milk shakes were great, the food was okay but I would try somewhere else next time or make a 5pm reservation not 7pm.

OP, since your experience was just server related I would definitely go, dinner is the best time.

Also if you ask the host/hostess nicely for a CM who is really in character (for the kids) they may hook you up. ;)

Katman2540----love the pic! My husband loves that antic. He always slams back about 3 sodas before the salad arrives so he gets that gallon jug. He has now made it a game to finish that one so he gets another...LOL He has finished it once but I forbid him to ask for another. :lmao:
I can play along but whoa....that is over the top!!

we celebrated our DD's 10th bday there last October and had a great time. DH and I thought the food was fine but, the kids (7 and 10 ) had a wonderful time with our server and other activities. Our server even tried to marry our DD off to the 9yo boy at the next table so we didn't have to take care of her anymore. Of course the younger DD thought this was a great idea since she always wanted to be an only! I' d give it another try...
