Okay all. Have reservations for Whispering Canyon for my husband's birthday. He has no idea I told them it was his b-day. What should or shouldn't we do to make it a MEMORABLE one! (L) Do tell. I'll be waiting for an answer. :rotfl2: party:

With all the antics they do at the Whispering Canyon, I am sure they will make it memorable themselves. Also, a lot of the disney restaurants will provide a cake if you plan it ahead of time.

I just read on the restaurant board that the Whispering Canyon has been toned down a lot. You might not get much of any reaction. I always say that if you want someone to be treated special then pay for it. Order a cake to be delivered to the restaurant. Have balloons sent to the room. Please don't expect anything.

Here is what happened to me at Whispering Canyon on my B-day thanks to all me "friends". As someone who does not get shy in front of strangers, they did try their hardest to get me! :teeth: We just finished dinner when the kids were called up for the wooden horse races. The kids all ran around the room on their horses. When they finished, our waitress, yelled (and I mean YELLED) that today was my birthday & I was turning 31. I was then ordered to get on my wooden horse, gallop around the dining room and lobby, singing Happy Birthday to me ("so everyone can hear" as ordered by our waitress) while the kids followed behind me. :yay: Let's just say by the time I was done, I had nearly everyone in WL wishing me a happy birthday. Our waitress was a bit disappointed though. She did try her hardest to get me to blush  but no such luck!

My best advice would be to make sure you are in the main room. I know it sounds odd, but I've gone a few times where we had been put all the way in the back room, where it feels like more of the lobby than the restaurant. We didn't feel like part of the fun the entire time. Also, it can be as easy sometimes as letting the host/hostess or your server know...they will treat you well!!!

We were there 2 weeks ago and they asked the boy what he wanted to do We all stood up and played the hokie pokie.

Hmmmm....when we were there in May, there were quite a few things that guests did that sparked funny antics (but the waitstaff did lots of crazy stuff on their own). Some things you might do...make a cell phone call, ask for some ketchup, get several refills (you may want to help your hubby with his drink so he gets more refills). Someone had a b-day while we were there, and they made her stand up on her chair so everyone could sing and give her a big "yee-haw."

I know up til last week there was fun stuff going on but if you go look on the restaurant board you will see how things have changed very quickly. Look under the WCC thread where there are a lot of irate posters about the new changes.
