Whispering Canyon

I really like Whispering Canyon but I'm partial to the WL ;)
We had our day-after wedding brunch there. My father and brother ate there the day of the wedding, and DH and I ate breakfast there the day we left for our cruise. It's loud but fun!

The servers have a lot of fun with the patrons. For example, at our day-after brunch they called up me and DH, a newly engaged couple, and a couple celebrating 10 years of marriage and had us all dance while they sang to us and then they held a kissing contest (not to brag, but we won - ha ha ha!)

They have an all-you-can-eat option and that's served "family style" off a skillet that everyone can eat off of (on your own plates of course). I like the breakfast skillet very much. They made me egg white only scrambled eggs, which I thought was nice, not a lot of places want to do that. The lunch and dinner all-you-can-eat skillets, to me, have a sparse variety. There are menu options as well. The beverages come in HUGE glasses and if you finish the whole thing your server will announce it to the restaurant - another way they play with the patrons.

My family and I think the food is tasty. But be aware that it is LOUD in there. People scream, kids run around, and watch out if you ask for ketchup! :rotfl2:

Location - great, nice to visit the WL

Food - I'll give it a B+. It was very good, but not fantastic, basic, comfort style foods. I had the meatloaf, but I still like my meatloaf better. Lots of people get the Canyon Skillet which is all you can eat with ribs, pulled pork, chicken, etc. They seemed to be enjoying it.

Atmosphere - Loved it. Very entertaining. Lots of "antics" by the servers. You can interact as much or as little as you wish. Can be embarassing if you are the type that embarasses easily, especially if you are celebrating a birthday. Kids like it, lincoln logs to play with out front, stick horse races, good milkshakes.

Over all, I'd give it an A-. I will go back, but might try breakfast next time. (You can still get milkshakes at breakfast by the way!)

We went here in Aug. My 6 year old really liked it. They had a cute horse stick for him to ride to his table and even gave him a bandana.
The waitress "Hickory" was really good and had a funny Southern accent. My husband wanted tabasco sauce and the waitress ran to get it. When she arrived - she ran yelling ---"Here's yar' Tabasco sauce Sir!" It was very funny and I enjoyed it.
The food was good but a little greasy.
If you want a quiet dining experience, this is not for you. If you want FUN and MEMORABLE - you will like this place.
PM me if you have any questions.
