We have a 1:00 PS at Whispering Canyon Cafe. How long should we plan on to get there from MK?

Thanks!

the boat ride from the mk dock is only maybe 10 mins and maybe a3 min walk to get to wcc from the dock but in case you need to wait for a boat i'd allow 30-40..( if the boat just left whe you got there it would take i am guessing at least 30 to get back maybe a little longer since it goes to fw also) if you are early you can always go see the geyser ect rather than miss your adr

The boat ride is nice but can be a little slow at times. Depending on the loop, they may go to Fort Wilderness before going back to MK. This will add 10-15 minutes to the trip.

We took the boat a couple of weeks ago. I left MK at 12:15 for a 1:00 ADR. Ended up being 15 minutes late. We waited for the boat for about 10-15 min, the boat doesn't travel very fast and it stopped at FW first. It pulled into WL at just after 1pm and by the time we found our way in we were 10 min late. Fortunately and unfortunately, it didn't matter because we ended up waiting 35 min for a table. Had a great time though....

I'd plan for an hour. You may get there early, but then you'll have time to explore the Lodge a little bit before you eat. Have fun -- it is a blast!

I agree with everyone else, those boats are so slow. I would figure an hour travel. Even though it's just a rock's throw away.

The boat ride over from Magic Kingdom takes about 10 - 20 minutes, depending on which stop is first - Wilderness Lodge or Ft. Wilderness. That is the boat ride only.

Your only variable would be how long you would have to wait for a boat. You could walk out to the boat dock and a boat is waiting there for you, and it leaves just as soon as you board....you could be at Wilderness Lodge in 10 minutes.

Or....you could walk up to the boat dock just as a boat was pulling away....Now, you may have to wait 10 - 15 minutes for the next boat to arrive, wait another 10 minutes for all other passengers to board, and then another 10 - 15 minutes for the ride over....

i'm changing my timing as evidently we have been fortuante and always got the wl first loop going to wl but since it isn't always that way i'd give at least an hr.( it took us almost an hr to get from mk to the poly and we could actually see the building the whole time. if it weren't for gators i could have swam it faster lol!) the boat we have taken from fw on the other hand has always stopped at wl after fw but i thought it stopped at wl before and after fw so sorry for the misinformation.

Wow. It has never taken us an hour to get from the Magic Kingdom to either Wilderness Lodge or the Poly. In fact, on our trip in June, we were staying at the Poly and had dinner ressies at Whispering Canyon.

We took the monorail from the Poly to the Magic Kingdom, then the boat over to the Wilderness Lodge. It took us just over 30 minutes.

Again, the biggest variable is the timing of catching the boats.

We stayed at WL the end of August and found that the ferry was taking too long. Instead, TAKE THE BUS! The drive time is only 8 minutes, door to door...

If the ferry is at the dock or approaching the dock when you exit MK, I would jump on it. Otherwise, go get in the line for the bus. WL is so gorgeous, you will want to be a bit early just to look around.

Thanks to all for your help. I guess we'll plan on an hour and if we're early just do some exploring - it sounds like a beautiful place!
