Was just reading the thread on disappointing service at Whispering Canyon. We've never eaten there and was wondering is it geared more towards children or do the servers make it fun for middle aged couples as well?

Do the meals usually take 2 hours as some said in the other thread? Not that we are in a hurry but that's a little long, especially if most of that time is waiting for the food.

We've only eaten there once, and we did have kids with us, but the people that seemed to be having the most fun were the middle-aged couple sitting next to us. They didn't participate in the antics per se, but you could tell they were having a ball watching them. They joked around with our kids a little, urging them to ask for ketchup, etc. They were also celebrating a big anniversary that night, and their server brought them each a flute of champagne with a big strawberry in it with their dessert. It was sweet, romantic and fun--a perfect Disney anniversary dinner.

We went for breakfast last week (me, my aunt and my Mom) and had a fun time. Sure we didn't get quite the attention the kids next to us did, but it was a lot of fun watching. Service was very good (except for the fruit plate that never arrived - however, it wasn't on our bill either). Mom was picked to hand the kids their certificates after the pony races. The best was watching the waiters pick on the group of adults that obviously did not want to be there and were not willing to even pretend to be good sports about the ruckus going on everywhere. :thumbsup2

Go - and have the breakfast skillet for me!

Our last 2 trips to Disney, we have stayed at the WL, and we have eaten at the WC Cafe many times. One thing is for certain, you will never have a boring meal there !! We have 2 kids, and we all have just as much fun watching everyone else as we do participating in the fun !! Try it, you'll love it !!:thumbsup2

Sounds like fun, thanks for the replies. What would be your favorite meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner?

We've gone with just adults before and most of the fun is watching all of the kids doing things, etc. If you want quiet alone time, this is NOT the place! :)

We like it enough to eat there on every trip, service has always been good.

If you are getting the skillet for dinner -- the meats get there about 10 minutes or so after your order in our experience. They bring out salad and cornbread with your drinks before the skillet arrives, and you can ask them for whatever else you want. If you are on DDP, go for dinner since you get more items in the skillet.

My dh and i eat there every year and we love it. It is a good spot for lunch. enjoy
