I have ADR at WCC b/c I thought it would be fun for ds (he'll be 14 months) and we're staying at the WL. However, some adults in my party think the silly games at the restaurant will be annoying. My instinct tells me to dine there anyway (the trip is all about the baby and I think he'll enjoy it), but I like to please everyone. Any thoughts? Thanks!

the wait staff is pretty good on "picking up" on whether or not you would like to "participate." if nothing else, ask if "they" would like to dine at artist point that evening while y'all take the baby to WCC. that might work.:yay:

WCC is one of the best restaurants that there is in DW. We go there every time, all of us from my 15 DB to my 60 something grandmother. As long as you don't mind the noise and having to stand on your chair and yell "KETCHUP" when you want ketchup...everything will be okay. Like disney queen said...the staff is pretty good about picking up on the tables that want to have fun and the tables that are more serious. But it's Disney no one knows who you are, it's the perfect time to act crazy. I say you should dine there anyway. It's a very fun restaurant. If the trip is all about the baby then they need to realize that and not worry about that. I say try anything once.

I would book it and not give it another thought....

It is all about the kids....

And....Disney has a way of bringing out the kid in all of us:love:

Very true!!! We LOVE:love: the WC and eat at least one meal there each trip. It is a fun restaurant, the server is wonderful and the food... let me just say Yummy!!! It can get a little loud in there but that is part of the fun. Your ds will have a blast! And so will you and hopefully the rest of your party will too. Remind them that an entertained and happy child makes for a pleasant meal for everyone at the table.

I've dined at WCC twice solo and enjoyed it both times. The CMs do read the tables quite well. The first time I went I wanted to be left alone and I was placed in an area where I could watch the action but not be involved.

The second time they could see I was in a playful mood and made me part of the act. They treated me like a celebrity, seated me in the front, and pointed me out to everyone as they were seated. It was a hoot to watch people try to figure out who I was!

But either way you're party will enjoy just people watching and seeing what the CMs will do next. And your DS will enjoy all of the attention. I say go for it.

To hell with the adults! My husband, our teenage son, and I had to endure Chef Mickey's for a little girl. If a 17 year old boy can get through that, the adults in your party can certainly put their needs aside for a few hours.

I took my in-laws (NOT into this stuff at all) and my parents there one night. My father is the biggest grump in the world. Nothng pleases him. When we sat down he said "this is NOT whispering by any stretch of the imagination". I told him to shut up and enjoy himself. Next thing I know, he's over there coloring a picture of Bear in the Big Blue House because he wanted to know why we had crayons on the table and nothing to color.

I say don't worry about the others in the party, they will probably end up loving the restaurant too. The atmosphere is so fun, it is one of my family's favorites. We ate there quite often our last trip to DW b/c we too stayed at WL and it was more convient with a 4 and 2 year old, who also loved the place. This June we are staying at POR and decided to make ADRs for WCC only because my ILs are coming with us and they are just as crazy as some of the waitstaff...this is going to be a surprise to them, can't wait to see their reactions.:lmao:

Hi there I am doing the dining plan and am looking for 6 restaurnats to eat dinner at...any suggestions? 1 for sure is Whispering Canyon so I guess I only need 5...lol. Those that have been to WC is it buffet style?

You will not be sorry you went to WCC. The food is good and the atmosphere is wonderful. Enjoy

OP: I say go where you want to go. As someone else suggested, if others in your party really have an aversion to this place, offer Artist Point as an alternative.

And out of curiosity to those WCC regulars, how do their antics compare to Prime Time? My kids love Prime Time but dh and I really wanted to try something different so we told them WCC is fun like Prime Time. My kids love it when the waitstaff at Prime Time hams it up, so I assume they will not be disappointed with WCC right?
