Whispering Canyon or Garden Grill

I'm working on my final details on our trip and I need options. Our last day we will be at Epcot. Our party includes myself, hubby and 2 kids (7 and 5). we are actually celebrating my son's bday the week that ew are there.

For that last day I have reservations at Garden Grill. We have never been there before but have always thought it looked good. Now a friend has offered to trade me for her reservations at Whispering Canyon Cafe. We have also never been there.

Which do you recommend? Is one better than the other? Keep in mind that Whispering Canyon Cafe would require us to leave Epcot and come back after lunch...is it worth the side trip?

We did Garden Grill for lunch on our last trip in May06. It was myself, DH, DS (7) and DS (3). We had a great time ! Food was good, character interaction was terrific and the 'scenery' was pretty neat. I haven't tried Whispering Canyon, but we would definitely do Garden Grill again.

If you will already be at Epcot, and your kids like meeting the characters, I would try Garden Grill. We did both GG and WCC on our last trip. I thought the character interaction at GG was pretty good, and the characters are dressed in unique farming-themed costumes that you won't see anywhere else. The food was good, not great (although I feel the same about WCC). Check out a sticky on this board, and you can find photos of the food for each place. That may help you decide.

I'd go with the Garden Grill too.

Leaving EPCOT to eat at the Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch would require too much travel time IMHO.

The Garden Grill is fun and the food is pretty good...I think you and your family will like it!

I enjoy both restaurants but since you're already in EPCOT, I'd stick with GG. It's your last day and you don't want to tie up an hour (or more ) in travel time just to go eat lunch. There are too many things you'll want to do just one more time or souvies you'll want to pick up to waste precious time leaving the park.

I would stick with Garden Grill - you'll be very happy there!!!

When it comes to Whispering Canyon - I really like it there too, but not enough for me to leave the park to go eat there

WCC is not worth that big a detour.

GG is one of my boys' favorite meals. It's a fun, cool respite from the hustle and bustle. Food is better too, IMO.

I have not been to WCC but I did not like the Garden Grill. Food was just bland and characters (especially Mickey) were not into character. We won't be returning. I hope to try WCC next trip.

This will be the perfect reason to come home and book our next trip straight away
