On our arrival day, which will be a Saturday afternoon, I thought of going to WC after we are checked in, unpacked and rested since this restaurant looks like a fun experience and I'd love the opportunity to check out WL.

I also had thought of doing HDD on Wednesday (our non park day).

If we do HDD in will be on our DS 5th birthday, can we have anything special added to the experience for them to recognize him (like just singing Happy Birthday)??

Since we will have our car, does it seem reasonable to go to the same place 2x in the week for meals? We have no clue of the travel time or logistics of going from Pop Century to any other resorts.

I originally had thought of doing DTD and TRex on arrival evening, but also think that may be too much after our 10hr drive.

Thoughts? Thanks!!

You won't be doing same place twice, Whispering Canyon is at Wilderness Lodge, Hoop-Dee-Doo is at Fort Wilderness Campground.

best way to travel is bus to MK and then boat to WL or FW. If you drive to Fort Wilderness you park at the front of the campground and then have to get a bus in through the campground to Pioneer Hall for HDD.

Would we need a park ticket to go to MK to catch the boat?

When I was at HDDR they just asked if anyone was celebrating a birthday and had them stand up. There were about 15 people. I think we just clapped, and maybe sang Happy Birthday to all. No one person was singled out that I remember, they just made it part of the show.

Pop to WL: Drive time is only about 20-25 minutes. I would go via Bonnet Creek to Vista Blvd to avoid having to go through the parking booth for TTC. If you want to go through the parking booth, stay to the right, but not the very right lane, and tell the CM you are going to WL.

Pop to HDDR: Since I love the ferries between MK and FW, I would bus to MK, walk to the dock and take the boat. This way when you arrive at FW, you are in the Settlement area. If you are interested in looking around FW, you could drive and park at the Outpost. From the parking lot, you could take any bus to the Settlement, or if you feel like it, walk. (I would estimate the walk at about 1-1.5 miles.) I would allow 90 minutes via MK and 60 minutes via car to get from Pop to HDDR.

Just an FYI, but you do not have to have a park ticket to access any of the main gate transportation options.

Epcot is the only one that is a bit odd in that there are two gates and to get between the gates you would need a valid park ticket. This is usually only a problem for those that want to monorail or bus to Epcot then go to BC/YC, BW, or Swan/Dolphin. In this situation, they would have to enter Ecpot's main gate and then walk through to the International Gate so they would need a valid park entry.
