I was there for lunch on Aug 18. Other than the ketchup thing, I didn't notice any shenanigans. All of the servers except one made the guests yell for ketchup. One server yelled and she was very loud. My waiter made a point of making conversation with me, but nothing particularly funny. I didn't notice any extra big or extra small glasses or any throwing of straws. (Disney is getting rid of straws anyway.) Maybe I was just there at a quiet time.
P.S. If you are going between the Magic Kingdom and Wilderness Lodge, the buses come more frequently than the boats, and the ride on the bus is faster than the boats. I would only take the boat if it's daylight (there are bugs at night), not raining (boat isn't covered) and you have a lot of time to kill.
