Whispering Canyon Cafe

I'm going to Disney World in 3 days, and we are eating at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to say to the server to make them do funny stuff? Is there anything that I really should do or anything I really shouldn't do? And does anyone have any favorite foods there? Thanks for your help.

In our experience, the table setting was deliberately missing certain items that you might need to complete your meal. My daughter innocently asked for ketchup for her fries and only I had an inkling of what was coming! The look on her face!

I have seen other people ask for longer straws since the ones provided are short on purpose, for a toothpick and I think maybe salt and pepper.

Its really up to the server you get -- ours was named "Hedda Lettuce" - I guess most of them are - but her real name was Suzanne from NY. She was really into her role.

You might try checking out the menu for WCC on allears.net --- I think she lists there some techniques which have worked for others in the past. Nothing is guaranteed.

Talking on your cell phone can get you a lot of attention. Also, a Tee shirt or hat from Universal or seaworld can be entertaining.

But not all of the servers are in character as much as some are. It really will depend on the server. I did notice that the ketchup request was used multiple times by several tables.

Also .. chewing gum obnoxiously and blowing bubbles can draw attention. My daughter had a pont tail and our server put a bunch of straws sticking straight out in it, had her hold a menu in one hand and an upside down botte of ketchup in another (as her arm was raised ... and made her stand on a chair until someone guessed she was the Statue of Liberty ..

Try drinking fast and asking for refills. My son did this and the glasses, carafes and buckets kept getting bigger with each refill. On one other trip he said his pickle wasn't juicy enough and got a glass of pickle juice. He loves to get them going.

Ask for ketchup and butter....you'll get plenty! Also, excuse yourself to go to the bathroom (or ask where it is).....don't be surprised if you are followed.

We were staying at the Wilderness lodge this last week. We were reading in the lobby close to the WCC. The server who had a table colse to the lobby started bantering with my son, and we weren't even eating there. In fact the server came into the lobby and scared my son as he was reading his book on one of the couches. We got a kick out of him.
