We're going back to WDW end of April. It will be me, husband, mother in law and the 3 kiddos (ages 6, 3 1/2 and 2)
MIL would like to see the Wilderness Lodge and thought Whispering Canyon would be a cool place to eat.

I'd love some opinions on atmosphere and food please :)

We were there in 07' and my family really enjoyed it. My kids were 6, 3 &1. The older two had an excellent time, they do fun stuff like if someone askes their server for crayons they have everyone in the resturant to bring crayons over! Everything is like that over the top so it was really kid friendly. DH really liked the food, I thought it was just ok.

One of the reasons I got ressies there was to see the WL we even asked at the font desk and they let us see a vacant room. :)

Ohh, this is good to know. Child friendly is definitely what we'd like! Thank you!

Oh and I forgot to mention that they have a place where the kids can build with lincoln logs while waiting to be seated, that was a huge hit with our kids also.

This definitely sounds like a good choice for us. We were going to stay at WL but decided on the Poly for the monorail convenience so eating at WL sounds like a plan! Did you get to see a room?

We tried it last September when we were at Disney. It was one of the best meals we had the entire trip. The kids loved it! We had alot of fun when we asked for ketchup!!!! The Wilderness Lodge was beautiful!!We had some time to check out the resort while we waited for our table.

We're planning this dinner for our last night and I almost ditched it for O'Hana's (we're staying at the Poly) but now I am glad I asked here because I will be booking WC!

:thumbsup2 : Cannot agree more! SharkyGoddess and I took DD-13 there for her birthday (arrived at the park that day JUST so we could have her birthday there). It was FABULOUS! The staff there is fun - they are bustling around still having a lot of fun. Make SURE to ask for ketchup!

We had good times at each of our ADRs - but Whispering Canyon was far and away my favorite. Cannot for the life of me remember what the glowing blue drinks we had were - some kind of martini slushi thing - i'm sure my beloved will remind me later with a THWOK up the back of me thick noggin - but they were great too! Kiddos all had their glowing drinks too - things on the straws were all lit up - it was just a great time.

There was also making the big production over a 12-yo birthday that made it even more special - and having the entire place sing "Happy Birthday" - how cool is THAT?

We saw one of the rooms with bunk beds, it looked really nice. Personally I would pick the Poly for the monorail reason also. Although we've never stayed at either resort.

Went last year and by far the worse meal of the trip. We won't be back--at least for dinner.

Awesome!! I am so psyched now! This will be a great way to end the trip!
I can make ADRs on Jan. 29th!!!

Oh Booo! Why? What didn't you like?

Waited over 30 minutes for our table; put in the back room; lousy service, saw none of the antics (not even while we were waiting for our table), the food was medicore at best (DH actually got sick on the ribs and/or chicken--the only things I didn't try). I will say the bottomless shake was great but not worth going back for. We do want to try breakfast though on a future trip.

Oh man, that is a disappointment :sad2:

We have been for Lunch and for Dinner and enjoyed it both times, my son was 6 & 8 on the trips and enjoyed as well, Have Fun!

We really enjoyed the experience. The food wasn't too bad (it wasn't anything to write home about--except the cornbread).

My DD3 was absolutely obsessed with the stick pony run around the resstaurant. And she loved swinging the napkin around, too.

All that and the guy next us got his cup taped to his hand!

We're going again for our March trip. YAY!
