What is your opinion if you had to choose between Whispering Canyon Cafe or Coral Reef?

I've never been to Coral Reef (It's on our list for the adults only trip in Dec.) but WCC's food was pretty good, one of my DD's & I ate here on our girls only trip. I was stuffed on the skillet and my DD loved the milkshakes.

BUT...we were placed in a back alcove with the big fireplace and didn't have much interaction with the CMs. The noise level was just annoying and we felt left out. We'll try it again someday, but I'm really looking forward to Coral Reef. The menu looks really good.

I have never been to Coral Reef (we're going in September) but I loved WCC. It is a must every time we go. Now that being said are entire family has a good sense of humor. You have to have one for this place, and be able to tolerate noise. I usually get the skillet and it is a lot of food for one person. The milkshakes are refillable so that is a big point for this kids. But they are usually so think it will take them a good while to finish one. The place is very kid friendly. The CM's are awesome w/ attending to your every needs. They have little games for the kids and one time they made all the dads, uncles, and grandfathers stand up and sing "I'm a Little Tea Pot" that was great. Also if it's your birthday you have to ride a stick pony around the restaurant to get your cake. We did this to my dad before and we made fun of him. Well we then all had to do ride the horsey in the lobby of the resort. Once again this place is awesome as long as you don't mind all of this. The food is awesome and we have never had a bad meal. I hope that helps you. But in the end i would say if you had kids, any age, go to WCC, to me Coral Reef seems like kids wouldn't like it to much. But I haven't been there yet so what do i know.

We do CR almost every trip, WCC was new to us last time, and both are on the list for next time. WCC was #1 on my dd's list, so if you'll have kids with you, I'd lean towards that. Not that CR isn't good for kids, because they do love the aquarium and those glow cube drinks. But it's a much more sedate atmosphere than WCC. I liked the entrees more at WCC, and the desserts at CR. Both are excellent--I'd have a hard time choosing just one. Good luck!

We are going to both in May and have gone to both before. I guess you need to consider which you would rather have, meat or fish? I really like the antics at WCC but as I have read on other posts and have experienced myself, they arent always what you think they will be especially if you go at an off time but the food is great. We have gone to WCC for all meals and enjoy the breakfast skillet the best. For kids, I always liked going to CR because of the atmosphere and the fact that you get to eat "with the fish". Have you checked menus on www.allears.net ??

If you end up going to CR, they offer free divers signs and personalized menus for a birthday, anniversary, etc. I have ressies for my divers sign and menu for in May for my parents.
