We are staying at the contemporary when we come over in Oct this year, and we would like to make an ADR for breakfast one day this time. We were looking at the whispering canyon cafe as they have a breakfast skillet that is a reasonable price (i think it's about $12). Has anyone had this, and is it good? How would we get from he contemporary to the whispering canyon cafe? And how long would it take us? Any other ideas for breakfasts? We are looking more at non character buffets or skillets at places that are not to far from the contemporary (could be in the parks though). What about crystal palace buffet (i know it has characters) it it too noisy and busy there to enjoy a nice breakky? Thanks for your help:wizard:

My friends ate the skillet for breakfast at WCC and said it was very good.

We are eating breakfast there next week via a recommendation. I was told to ask for ketchup whether we needed it or not.

best way from C to Wl is to take the monorail to MK and hope the ferry to WL. Not quick i'm sure, btu you get to take the ferry.

I've had the skillet and it is yummy. Gotta love the pinecone wafles.

The easiest way for you to get to the Wilderness Lodge is to take the boat launch from the Contemporary. There is a boat that will go to both Ft. Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge, can't remember which one is first though.

Just to be on the safe side, I would allow myself 30 - 45 minutes as you may have to wait for a boat at the marina.

Best breakfast of the monorail resorts, imho, is Kona at the POLY. tHEY HAVE THE ABSOLUTE BEST COFFEE! I just love their breakfasts - and I don't even get the Tonga Toast which most people rave about...

I loved, loved, loved the breakfast skillet at WCC! There's a boat from WL to CR. The reverse trip may go out to FW before it goes to WL, though. I think they've recently changed the service, but I can't remember exactly what I read.

The breakfast here is divine! We had our last meal at Disney there the morning of our departure last trip and we're planning on doing it again on our upcoming trip. There is still some character interaction..but it's definitely toned down..still a lot of fun.

Here's a picture we took of the skillet..everything was delicious!

Just noticed your comment about Crystal Palace possibly being noisy...if you're concerned about that, WCC is far, far noisier than CP. It's a themed "Western" restaurant with stick pony races and lots of interaction with the wait staff - banging trays, ringing the dinner bell, making the guests get up and sing, and lots of hootin' and hollerin'. Easily the noisiest restaurant on property.

If you're looking for that sort of thing, WCC will be fine, they have a nice breakfast menu. If you want something quieter, Kona Cafe at the Poly and GF Cafe at GF are excellent choices.

Also, Trails End at FW has a really nice breakfast buffet that's reasonably priced.

There's boat service from CR to both FW and WL.

I mentioned this above..but there were no anticcs at WCC when we were there, other than the wait staff throwing straws at us and giving my husband the extra large coke. There weren't a lot of people there so there were no pony rides or singing. We had breakfast at CP earlier in the week, which was much livelier thant breakfast at WCC.

Well you'll definitely get woken up! We took the ferry directly from the Contemporary over to WL. Pretty quick, nice ride. I'd suggest Kona Cafe also at the Poly. Just a quick stop on the monorail.

We had a fun breakfast at WCC last year. I had the french toast which was delicious! Since you are staying at the Contemporary, I would also suggest a trip to the Kona Cafe for breakfast. The food is great there!
