I am celebrating my 1st birthday at Disney this September and I made reservations for Dinner at Whispering Canyon.
I guess I am doubting myself and would like to hear some stories on how Whispering Canyon made your Birthday special?

You type really well for someone who doesn't turn 1 'til September! :rotfl: When I was at WCC last year, the servers came out together with a cupcake & sang a little girl Happy Birthday. When they were done singing, instead of giving her the cupcake, they all turned their backs to her and ate the cupcake themselves. Hilarious!!! :rotfl2: Immediately after they had a replacement cupcake for her, though. The look on that childs face was priceless!

They did the same thing to my DW on her birthday. My DS and I were wearing Patroits football shirts and our server made us give a "fashion show" for everyone in the restaurant and our server announced to everyone that all I gave my DW for a birthday present was a trip to Disney.

I celebrated my 40th there and received a piece of chocolate cake. The waitress also made the whole restaurant sing happy birthday to me...only the part in the song where they say the person's name....well I had to yell "ME". LOL
It was fun...a little embarrasing though. ;)

I celebrated my 22nd birthday there. My friends got there a little earlier and they were allowed to decorate our table with banners, party bags and other decorations.

Before dessert, our server arrived with a cake my friends had pre-ordered for me. They were really great.

Then I was made to parade around the restaurant on a wooden horse while singing Happy Birthday to myself:lmao:

It's such a great place to celebrate your birthday!

i celebrated my bday there. I ordered the chocolate cake for dessert and when it came out it had a candle in it. The waiter, who was a shy personality type, unenthusiastically sang happy bday and literally like one other person sang from the other tables. It was embarrasingly pathetic. Atleast i will remember it though. Hopefully you have a better experience. Happy Bday! Liberty Tree does a great job for bdays, a whole bunch of the cast members come out and chime a bell and state that on this day you were born.. and then they all clap and sing happy bday and everyone around us sang too. That was great. They also gave me a delicious dessert that was a cross between a cupcake and a brownie with glaze on it. MMMMMMMM

theydid nothing for my DDs b-day last time. But our waitress was a dud and did not do anything fun and the meal was blah. Hope you have a better time than we did!

Hope there are some other good stories out there. We are taking our girl for her 7th Birthday there this fall. Anyone else?:)

My dad and I had a great experience for his 60th birthday in October 2007. Here is a video we took from that experience.

We took my son to celebrate his 9th birthday. My son is very shy and did not want any attention. His older brother (11) aware of this, decided to let the waiter know over and over it was his brother's birthday. As the 11 year old sat with a grin on his face, the waiter brought a cupcake out and said there was a birthday to celebrate. He then turned to the 11 year old, made him stand on the chair and sing happy birthday, solo, to his brother while everyone watched. It was so funny. We all still laugh when we remember the occasion. WC is a great place to celebrate a birthday.

At first the waitress did not acknowledge my sons 10th birthday, we had noted it and he had a badge, then as we were leaving she ran after us took as back to the table and said sorry she forgot, she brought a cup cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to him, which he enjoyed. At chef mickey on his 8th birthday the waitress asked if it was really his birthday, when he said it was she said that all the kids say that! And no acknowledgement, not. Even a happy birthday!

When we went back in 2005, we weren't celebrating anything other than it being our first time there after being asked if it was.

It's still one of our favorite times in the "world".

it was the usual shananigans, my DS was 7 and as is was about to take a bit of corn bread, a waiter walked by swiped it from his hand effortlessly and quickly and never looked back. My DS7 burst into a fit of laughter because he couldn't figure out what had just happened, thought we saw the whole thing. The waiter came back laughing with a basket of fresh corn bread for him.

My DD12 at the time dropped her fork and entire plate smashing to the floor. They yelled "there's going to be some expensive china on that bill and it ain't for a trip!" They replaced her meal and brought out a 4ft wooden fork! LOL!

My DH is a very quiet guy, he likes to take everything in and laugh alot, but not usually at his expense. The waiter came over and said he needed to lighten up a bit and made a napkin hat with twisted corners and made him wear it and told the crowd that if he took it off during the meal, that he would be buying everyone else's too! He obliged and the photo of him is priceless. Of course there was the usual call for ketchup too. I forgot to warn of the straws being tossed at you, so my DH's expression cracked me up until I let him and the kids onto the "shtick".

I hope they'll make your birthday there a wonderfully fun time!
