Whispering Canyon Birthday Cake Antics??

My friend was just there last week, and she said at the next table it was someones birthday. She said they brought out a cake and sang to the person, then proceeded to EAT the cake (the CMs). I think this would really add to our dining experience there this week.

I am going with 9 others and 5 of them are celebrating a birthday....so I called about it and ordered a cake. BUT........

Do I even need to do that??? I don't want to spend money on a cake we aren't even going to eat (even if they didn't do the funny bit with them eating it). We are on the dining plan, so don't need it at all. But, I am willing to buy the cake (a very small one) to have this done....if I even need to.

Or, do they make up simple cakes just for this?

Whipering Canyon - did DD's birthday there.
We ordered an 8" cake - standard vanilla cake with vanilla frosting ($15).
The servers came by to deliver the cake.
They made our DS's sing Happy Birthday to her.

We were there in April for DD13 birthday. We didn't order a cake, just told them it was her birthday. The waiter (David) brought out a piece of cake all decorated with whipped cream and stuff. He gathered all the servers around to sing happy birthday to her and then they all proceeded to eat the cake. Her expression was priceless. While they were doing that, the manager brought a new piece for her to eat .

OK, so it was a slice and not a whole one? With it being 5 birthdays, I wonder if that would work out

Yes, with us just one piece because it was just one birthday. With five, I'm pretty sure they would do something different. Have fun.

We just there last month and my daughter celebrated her 10th birthday. Our server brought out a mini bundt cake and had us sing HB to her. The cake was boring in regard to the other desserts we already had on the table. After awhile anyone celebrating a birthday was called up and the whole restaurant had to sing to them. Cute performance but not over the edge.

OK, we went last night. Our Server, Jeremy was a RIOT!!!! He did pull me aside on the way to the bathroom and asked about the cake thing and what I wanted. He then did something different and MUCH better, it was HYSTERICAL! He got all 5 of the birthday people up and made them stand in the aisle and do the Hokey Pokey! He made the entire place do it in fact. But all the attention was on the 5 people. Later when he was taking dessert orders, he just said lets forget what we talked about earlier and no charge ( I had ordered a cake $12). I said no problem, what you did was much better.

Oh yeah, other birthdays last night too, but nothing really special was done, except for this 14 year old girl. They made her ride a stick pony around the room and sing HB to herself!!!!!
