I'm thinking of booking an ADR at Whispering Canyon one night after the mK closes early. I'd like to eat the skillet, and will be traveling with my DD3, who would pick at the mashed potatoes and corn maybe. It's not an all you can eat buffet, but it says it's priced per person. If you want your DD to share, Do they charge you extra for her? She wouldn't eat anything extra if I paid for it????

We have never had any problem feeding our kids off of our skillet at WCC, even after my daughter turned 3. Just tell your server that you want the skillet for yourself and then order a drink for your daughter. If you are on the dining plan, make sure to tell your server not to use a child credit also and that should take care of things. The skillet will only have portions for one person, but it is unlimited and will be refilled if you ask for it to be. We really like the fact that after you try everything you can just ask them to refill your favorites. The cornbread is AMAZING!

My daughter is a very picky eater, my son will eat anything you put in front of him! :confused3 When the waitress saw that my daughter wasn't really eating anything she brought out a little plate of fresh fruit and a side of french fries ... she said that the smile my daughter gave her was all the tip she needed that day! So, if there is something that you think your daughter might eat besides the mashed potatoes and corn, just ask, the servers are very helpful.

Have a great time!

The skillet is considered family style and since your daughter is 3, technically she should be charged for it.

If she isn't great, but I would plan that she would be.

Ok, I need to apologize because obviously I didn't do a very good job in my first post! :rotfl:

As you said, WCC is not a buffet, it has a menu. The skillet is just one menu item and, while served family style, it doesn't have to be eaten by everyone at the table just because one person selects it. You can certainly order something else off the children's menu for your daughter. The servers are wonderful at coming up with ideas that will appeal to all their guests, just like I wrote about in my previous post. We fully expected to pay something for it, but it wasn't on our bill. When I asked the server about it she said that all she had done was bring my daughter a few sides and didn't need to charge us.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know what the price would be for a child for the skillet?

For children it is either $8.49 or $9.49. Whatever the price is for their kids meals the skillet is an extra $2.

Can I just say, no flames please, I personally would not expect to pay anything for a child to pick off my plate. I have eaten at WCC and if they charged me for a small child that ate a few veggies from my dinner I would complain. On that note the last time I ate there I hated my dinner and they did not offer to get me something else, nor did they remove it from the bill. So did I feel guilty for eating the shrimp from my DH's skillet.....heck no!

Order your child a drink and leave a tip that would be in line with serving an adult and a child.

I would not expect to be charged if one of my children ate off one of our plates. We have done it at many restaurants over the past 3 years. She doesn't eat enough to warrant getting a child's plate (she's pinky also). That being said we did get the dining plan for her due to her being 3 (we added for us which meant she had to have it as well). If she only ate a few things/bites off our plates I would not be happy she was charged a meal price. She's ate off our plates before at restaurants here and we've never been charged a meal price. Perhaps a charge for an extra plate but that's okay (usually no more than $2.00).
