Confused --- We are staying at WL.....What exactly is the Cafe? Is it a 1 dinner (if on Dining Plan) ??? Is it entertaining? Do you need resv????
Thank's

We love WCC! It's entertaining, but not in the typical sense. Lots of funny antics from the wait staff, but no formal entertainment. It counts as 1 table service meal on the dining plan. It is located right off the lobby, you can't miss it. Have fun!

WCC is a table service resturant that sometimes has some antics.. (ask for ketsup and you may find out what we mean) It is a table service rest, so ADR's are advised..

HDDR is a 2 hour show / meal. It's kinda vaudvillish (sp) but not as 'blue' The music is played on a piano and a banjo, the actors sing and dance, tell corny jokes etc etc. You get BBQ ribs, fried chicken, smashed potatoes, corn bread, and cowboy beans.. All you can eat.. includes beer and wine also :)

It's more expensive and is 2TS credits if using the DP..

IMO the Hoop-Dee-Doo is by far the better experience. I also enjoy the food more at HDDR. What I usually do when I see the show is pay for it OOP and use the extra TS credit for either breakfast on a day where I also have a TS dinner booked OR I go to a 2 TS dinner (like CRT for dinner).

THe reason I pay OOP for the HDDR is I like CAT 1 seating which you don't get with the DDP (I believe CAT2 or possibly CAT3). I like to sit on the main floor.

It depends on the price you would like to pay as well. Whispering Canyons for the all you can eat skillet is about 1/2 the cost.

True, but the last time I had the All-You-Can Eat skillet it turned out to be the All-You-Can-Leave-Uneaten skillet. The food was dry and really not tasty at all. I have never had bad food at HDDR. Granted it is mainly always the SAME food (ribs, chicken, and sides) but it is consistently good.

THat's too bad about the WCC experience. We ate there in May and had great food. We were there for one of the last seatings and they had just brought out a full skillet ( we had asked for a smaller portion as not to waste it) They actually packed it all up to bring back to the room. I was very surprised at this since, most times at an all you can eat dinner, you cannot. I guess it would have been wasted if not packed up. My daughter was in a timeshare so had access to a kitchen.

We did both on our August trip this year. Whispering Canyon really depends on how good your service is. If your server is entertaining you will have a good time. I didn't care for the food, my husband thought it was so-so. Asking for ketchup was cute.

Loved Hoop Dee Doo. Food and entertainment was great. My children were entertained for 2 hours no complaints. It does take 2 table services if using dining plan. But everyone had a great time, would do again!

We ate at Whispering Canyon and Hoop de Doo during our tirp this month. We had the skillet at WC (we were on a tour) and it was really yummy! I am really fussy about my chicken and prefer boneless but the pieces were big enough at WC that I got lots of meat. The pieces at HDD were small and I didn't even eat more then two bites. (My boyfriend loved the ribs though-he had no room for the chicken). Plus at WC they had corn on the cob and a yummy cobbler. I thought the bread tasted better too but it might have been because I was so hungry. It was actually one of the best meals of the trip. At HDD I only ate the corn bread and the short cake but I knew going there I wouldn't enjoy the food-it was about the show. WCC will be on our list to do again.

At WCC they do things like mix up your drink orders, if you ask for water they say something about if you don't mind having it from the pond etc. I thought it was on the loud side.

I'd say there is no comparison, really. WCC is a table service rest. that, depending on your server, might be entertaining while you eat, much like any character meal. HDDR is a dinner show that is guaranteed silly entertainment w/ dinner with singing and dancing and corny jokes.

While we liked WCC, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there again, unless I was staying there, but I have done HDDR twice. JMO!
