I'm visiting DL for the third time this fall, and yet again, the Matterhorn will be closed while I'm there! There's not a thing I can do about it, either, because my husband has to request his time off in January...sigh...

I will NEVER get to ride it!

Okay, going off to get cheese to go with my whine as violins play in the background of my sad, sad story...

I feel your pain ... it's always so disappointing to have a major attraction closed down. Maybe next time ::yes::

No, no, you don't understand--this is the self-pity-party! I'm supposed to feel sorry for myself, not look on the bright side!

(I think we're probably going to end up going back next year.)

:teeth:

hey I am right along with you. I am going in May, I will be 7 months pregnant so that allready limits what I can go on. And Pirates and Peter pan will be closed. I am going to fill like a coat hanger, "Mommy, hold this, Mommy, can you go back to the car and get me my hat while I wait in line for an hour for splash mt."

That's the spirit! Welcome to the party! Throw your coat on the bed, drinks and appetizers are in the kitchen!

I don't know what I'd do if Pirate's was closed. That's just awful. I'd have to spend the whole time on the Jungle Cruise. Though, it's been something like fifteen--no, closer to twenty--no, OMG, it's been TWENTY-THREE years since I've seen the Haunted Mansion when it wasn't made up for the holidays...gosh, I miss that...

I wonder if I can force DH to ask to move his vacation up this year???

(Misery must love company, because I feel better already! No, wait, don't kick me out of the party--it's MY party! I take it back! I don't feel better!):teeth:

First time we had three hours (they opened DL at night for our convention) I was pregnant and missed Mattherhorn and Splash (this was before WDW had Splash) Next trip, I had one day and wanted to go on everything they don't have or is different in WDW. Well, Mattherhorn and Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln were both down and I didn't make the canoe's.

Toad and Indy were great.

This time I conquer the mountain, or else!!!

Just a hint - they generally close the attractions for annual refurb at the same time each year. So if you always go in say October then the same rides will always be closed. I know it too late this year but next year plan a February trip instead.

Oh BlackUnicorn, I feel so sorry for you...NOT!!!
Ha, I really do feel bad your favorite Matterhorn is not running, but it is true that it just makes it all the more special the NEXT time you return to DL:D It seems there is always some great ride closed for refurb at any given time. Anyway, have a wonderful trip.

 I'm confused....why are they closing Matterhorn again? They just got done totally overhauling the whole ride.

lulubelle, you're mean! I'm going to whine LONGER now! ::yes::

justmestace, I think that what disneychrista said was right, it must be an annual refurb, because this is the third time I've gone in September and every single time the Matterhorn is closed.

I think we've decided to go back again next year at a different time. We are planning on buying an AP, and guess what! I didn't check my e-mail this weekend, or I would have known the prices were going up. I WORK at the Disney Store, and they didn't even tell the CM's there that the prices were going to go up! So now I have to pay $14 more per person! ACK! Somebody tell me--is the Matterhorn worth all of this grief??
