has anyone ever just stayed on the ship instead of going on an excursion? If so, what is there to do on the ship that day?

We don't leave the ship in Nassau. In the morning, the ship is almost empty so there's time to explore and take advantage of the empty pools. The spa is also less crowded so we spend some of the time in the Rainforest there. The arcade is empty and you can play ping-pong without worrying about the wind from the motion of the ship.

We don't leave, there is plenty to do on the ship that day. It is nice that many people leave and the ship (and pools) aren't so crowded. By afternoon, many people return, so really it is the morning that is nicest to get to the pool.

We stayed on board the last time we were in Nassau. It was a beautiful, warm sunny day, and we spent the time relaxing. We had a fairly late breakfast at Beach Blanket, then stretched out on deck 9 by the adult pool, spent a little time in the hot tub, had a late lunch at Beach Blanket (it was just too nice to be inside), then back to the pool. When the ship next to us pulled out, we went back to our room and sat on our verandah, out of the sun, and read our books and organized all of our digital photos of our trip so far.

I think on our cruises in November, we'll get off once and go to Ardastra Gardens, and on one cruise we'll stay on board and just relax. No verandah this time, though, so we'll have to find some of those great chairs on deck 4 so that we can watch the world go by!
