While at the Wyndham on I drive last week..........

There was a thunderstorm so we ate at the hotels' Bar and Grill.There was a guy singing there that was FANTASTIC!!!! I will never figure out why he does not have a major record label!! He does have a cd through his independent label, I did a search on his name and found out that he was the first opening act for O Town. His name is Joe Keliikipi and goes by the name "Average Joe" He was born in Hawaii and grewq up in Pittsburg. He now lives in the Orlando Area I think. If any of you go to Orlando and ever have the chance to hear him, you will NOT be disappointed!!!! His CD "Unsigned and Fine" is WONDERFUL!!!!!! He wrote all the songs and performs with most of the instruments. This guy is SO talented!!!! If I had the money to invest in him I would make sure he got the recognition he deserves.

what kind of music?

i came across a really talented band once in orlando that i thought should be famous. they went by the name of matchbox 20

He describes it as a "unique blend of rock and soul". It is a good clean sound. He can also sing alot of Jim Croce songs and some Huey Lewis. There was this group that was around very popular a few years back and they came out with a new CD recently but when they took a break from touring it seems they have not been as popular. I can not for the life of me think of their name. The lead singer is a black guy and the rest of the guys are white and they got together in college either in NC or SC. All that comes to me now is somebody and the blowfish. UGH it a major senior moment for me !!! Anyway his voice is similar to the lead singer.

But anyway this guy is really good. No foul language in any of the songs and you can understand the words!!

I swear if I hit the lottery right now I would do whatever I could to get his music heard. I have heard good new singers before but never good enough for me to feel this strongly about him!! He is past the "American Idol"age so that would not help him!

Hootie and the Blowfish, Darius Rucker - singer

hmm well if he opened for O Town, he has had the exposure. But, from what you describe, it doesn't sound like he was opening to the right crowd. (I don't think 14-18 yr old girls are really into Hootie ) I'm gonna put him on my list of "to see" bands. Thanks!
