We will be taking our 4 year old daughter princess: for her 5th birthday :bday: in March 2005. I can't decide between the All-Star resorts and/or the Pop Century. This trip is for our daughter, where would she have the most fun!! And how crowded will the Magic Kingdom be between March 9-14, 2005? Thank you

If you go with All Stars, go for the Movies... the characters will be more recognizable to her. We stayed at 101 Dalmations, and our DD loved the dogs, and the fact that the stairs were encased in larger than life fire hydrants. Other buildings include the Mighty Ducks, Toy Story (always very popular), the Love Bug, and Fantasia. The main pool is located right behind Cinema Hall which is where check in, the food court and the shop is. There is a quiet pool near Mighty Ducks, as well. The Movies is the newest of the All Star Resorts, having opened in 1999.

If you go with Pop Century and she knows the Jungle Book characters, you would want to request the 60's building. I believe the Hippy Dippy pool is located there, as well! Pop Century is only a year old, and I have heard MANY good things about staying there... in fact, I don't think I have even heard one negative about a guest's experience. It is more centrally located to all of the parks than the All Stars, too.

Definetly the Buzz/ woody section of All Star Movies. Just like being in Andy's bedroom.

I personally do not like the values. But, I suggest Pop Century. Out of the All Stars, for her I would pick movies. Here is a list for your family (YOUR FAMiLY, Not mine)
POP CENTURY :cheer2:
ALL STAR MOVIES
ALL STAR SPORTS :jumping4:
ALL STAR MUSIC :rockband:

But, I personally like
POP CENTURY :cheer2:
ALL STAR MUSIC :rockband:
ALL STAR SPORTS :jumping4:
ALL STAR MOVIES

Have a blast!

I have stayed at the movies and had a wonderful time. however i may try the pop century next year. i hear it has it's own bus route right now. it will have to share when the other one opens in the future but i did hear right now it had its own. any one else here different.

Pop all the way!

There are lots of reasons, but the most convincing is that with a 4-year old, you are going to like the direct bus service of Pop MUCH better than the shared service at All-Stars. They generally share the same bus between all three resorts, where Pop has a dedicated line. I've heard people staying at ASMovies that didn't get an actual seat on the bus their entire vacation (standing room only, since ASMovies is the last to get picked up).

Besides that, Pop is just as fun as those resorts, if not more so, because it appeals to everyone - there are giant Lady's from Lady and the Tramp for the kids, but also neat over-sided bowling pins, cell phones, etc. that older people can appriciate. The rooms are newer (and in better condition), and overall I just think Pop learned from the mistakes of the other value resorts.

Unless your 4-year old has her heart set on one of the other resorts I can't recomend Pop any more highly. Even if she does - I'd still strongly encourage Pop.

N.E.D.

Thanks you for your help with this. If anyone else would like to give their advise on the All stars that would be great. :D

We have stayed at both the movies and the sports in the all stars and the sports is our favorite due to the bus service, it is the first resort the buses stop at, so if they are full they then go stright to the parks, also it is the first resort they drop off at after the parks, that said after the last 2 visits we did find them quite noisy, so next year we are trying the pop for a change.

I've stayed at all of them and here are my choices:

POP - my family loves this resort! It's new, it's close to everything, the food court is very nice. The pop jets are a great addition as well.
All Star Movies- great theming and the best pulled together of the All Stars.
Music - quiet, but is long so it can be quite a walk if your room is at the back of the resort.
Sports - ok but didn't really do anything for my family. We only stay here if it is the only value we can get.

Is there any plus to All-Star Music? Everywhere I see people saying Pop, Movies or if nothing else Sport. What's wrong with Music? ...What's right with it? I got an AP standard room rate there. My first question would be where are the standard rooms and the next question what would be the best location to ask for (of standard).

Music is our second favorite All Star. It always seems quieter and I like the theming. The resort is long and narrow, I've heard it called a bowling alley, and the first two buildings (Calypso) are prefered and right by the pool. The rest of the buildings are standard a we like Jazz. It is right behind Calypso and still pretty close to everything. It also sits right between the two pools.

I would suggest Pop for the transportation. In March it will be crowded - standing all the time on the bus will get old fast! :hyper2:

I've stayed at Sports only when it first opened - in the Surfs Up section. This section was close to the lobby and food court.
