OK DH and I are having disagreements on where to make our ADRs.

Which one would you pick & why?

#1
OHANNA vs OLIVIA'S
I want Olivia's because I know it will be good (or it sounds good anyway!). He wants O'hanna because it is different than the other things we have. O'hanna is more convenient for us on this particular day. We have never been to either.

#2
CHEF MICKEY'S vs ROSE & CROWN
He want's Chef Mickey's. I want to do something different. We have done CM 100 times. My DS REALLY enjoys meeting the characters there. My DD does not and is freaking out and scared the whole time. He wants to go because DS loves it so much and because it's a buffet and DD is free (she's 2).
I want Rose & Crown simply because it is somewhere that we have never tried and I'd like to to try new places.

So what would you choose for each and why, and why?

1. Definitely 'Ohana. It's my one must do every trip. Try it...you'll like it :thumbsup2

2. I would go with Rose and Crown, but mostly because the only reason I would ever go back to Chef Mickey's is if I had kids that wanted to go. You could get better food absolutely anywhere. Also, it's terrible to have to sit through a whole meal where your DD is terrified and crying the whole time.

Sorry, but I agree with DH.

Ohana is wonderful. Very cool place for the kids as well as good food. You won't find a better dessert in all of WDW. Their bread pudding is so yummy, and I don't like bread pudding.
Also if it is different than what you are having elsewhere....go on a limb and try it.

Now, Chef Mickey's is another must do.....HOWEVER, why don't you split for that meal? I know vacation is all about family but what about the boys heading to CM for dinner and you and your DD make it a girl's night for a meal, then meet back where you want to enjoy the rest of the evening. Would give each of you some quality one on one time with your children and make them feel special, as well as satisfying you and DH at the same time.
Just something to think about. With CM being on the Monorail, it would be very easy for you and DH to meet back up.

We gals have to stick together...;)

I think your choices are the better of the 4 restaurants, but I'd give hubby 'Ohana (it's more convenient anyway) and take the Rose & Crown (Chef Mickey's has gone downhill and we won't go anymore after last November).

Have fun whatever you decide!

Okay, I'm still in planning mode but if it were me...

I'd do Ohana because your DH wants it and it should be really fun for the kids. There are plenty of great dining places around our home, so for me a good experience outweighs a good meal.

Then I'd do Rose & Crown because you want it (see - you each get to choose one!), not to mention it's awful sitting somewhere with a child who hates characters. We eat sometimes at a local chain with a character, and my 2yo also spends more time eyeing him from a distance worried that he'll come back instead of eating. I'm hoping she'll outgrow it before we get to Disney (and if she doesn't I guess we'll be eating a lot of CS). Your DD will be free anywhere you go, so his reasoning IMO isn't sound on that one ;)

Well I guess since it's a buffet, she can eat whatever she wants in whatever amount (she's a big eater). I guess that is his theory. We are under the impression that on the dining plan we can't actually order her a kids meal or anything when we're out w/o paying out of pocket for it. Is that correct?

Thank you everyone for the opinions, it helps!

That's correct. My DD is not a big eater, so it's tough for me to conceive eating more than a few bites off a plate! Since you've been before, have you found that portion sizes are huge though? 'Course that also means you have to take her eating habits into consideration when ordering food (something that can be a real PITA). Can you check out the Rose & Crown menu ahead of time and find something that you and DD would both like? Maybe you can even find a picture of it to see how big the portion is.

Thanks everyone. I think we decided to do O'hana and Rose & Crown... I hope DS isn't too upset over that.
