We have ADRs for both. Here's the situation: my husband and I have one night away from the twins while we are WDW. We are foodies that rarely get to eat out anymore (did I mention the twins?) We will be staying at BWV. I originally booked Le Celliers, because who doesn't like a good steak, we can walk there easily from BWV which means we could both have wine with dinner, and there's a small chance we'd be able to catch Illuminations. It's also during the F&W Festival, so we might be able to enjoy some of those events on our night out. Plus, it's only one dining credit.

But then I started thinking it wouldn't seem special enough. Citricos seems more romantic, and also seems to have more interesting food. The wine list is more to our liking. BUT, it's much further away, and we'll probably have to take a taxi if we both want to have wine (we will have our car). And honestly, there seems to be less of a chance of there being a LOT of kids there. But it's 2 dining credits.

So given all this, where would you rather eat?

Well my first inclination was to choose Citricos, but after reading what you like about each of the places, I'd say you could actually get everything you're looking for at Yachtsman: good steak, within walking distance, can still slip in to see Illuminations and experience F&W. :thumbsup2

But if that's not an option, I'd go with Citricos.

I'd second the advice on the Yachtsman - we really like that one. They are consistently wonderful and have a solid wine list too.

It is two credits, but you could always use two credits for the more expensive meal (hubby's, I'm guessing) and pay cash for the other meal - an amount you will be saving on cab fare, anyway ;) You can split the one dessert there and wander over to the F&W after dinner.

That, and I am just totally not a fan of Le Cellier. I find it way overrated. I know I am in the minority, but that's just my opinion of the place and I never bother trying to get in there any more after giving it about five chances over the last few years (usually at the urging of a travelmate who drank the koolaid and insisted on it).

I'd have to agree. I would choose just about anything over LeCellier. IMHO, it does not come close to the hype it gets.

Citricos is a lovely restaurant. If you time it right, you can go to the GF dock & watch Wishes from there. They pipe in the music. You can always use Disney Transpo, so you can drink all the wine you wish & not have to drive or cab (altho with twins waiting, I'd probably cab too - WDW transpo takes awhile)

If you are interested in watching Illuminations, the Yachtsman suggestion is a great idea - walking distance, steak, Illuminations....

Le Cellier is one dining credit for a reason--.
Citricos is clearly the better choice (unless TS credits are an issue).
If time is an issue, Yachtsman would be a good choice--but again, two credits.

Agree with those who said Le Cellier is overrated and I've never eaten there and have no desire to either! :lmao: And to think next year it's going to be a 2TS meal if you're on the dining plan. Seriously? What was Disney thinking?

Anyhow! I would go to Citricos or as others have suggested the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

Wow, thanks everyone. Citricos it is! (I'm surprised the poll results were so one sided!)

I hadn't thought of Yachtsman. But since we already have the ADR for Citricos, I think we'll stick with that.

LC is not as to die for as most people say it is...but Citricos is all that and a bag of chips :lmao:

We ate there last November and I just booked it for our Anniversary dinner this coming November.

I have tons of pics and a full review in my Nov 09 link

I know you already made your decision but just have to add my 2 cents and say that none of the restaurants I have eaten at in Epcot compare to the signature dining experiences. Citricos is so worth the trip. DH and I think Cali Grill is probably our fav but Citricos and Flying Fish(sitting where you can watch the chefs cook) are FABULOUS!!

 How do you know if Le Cellier is overrated if you've never eaten there?

We've actually got a reservation for Citricos on our next visit, and two reservations for Le Cellier. :thumbsup2

I agree Citricos was a wonderful all around dining experience that both DH and I loved.

Le Cellier was in my opinion not very good at all. The seating, at least for the tables for two, was horrible we were basically sitting on top of two other couples. The food was underwhelming at best, personally I thought both the soup and pretzel rolls were much better at biergarten and the steak was overly salty and not very impressive.

From my experiences with both restaurants I think you made a wonderful choice!!!!

I believe they are changing Le Cellier to 2 credits... and rolling out a new menu sometime soon, right?

I suppose this could argue for or against Le Cellier... depending on what you thought of the "old menu" and whether you believe the new menu will be an improvement. :)

Do not go to le Cellier if you like good steak. Out of the 3 steakhouses on site it is probably 3 out of 3. The only thing going for it is the soup and bread.
Go with Citricos or wait until le Cellier gets a new menu.

You can enjoy the cheddar soup from Le Cellier at the Canadian booth during tF&W festival.

Citrico's! That is where I will be enjoying my 12th Anniversary dinner with my DH in October.

Hi all I had to post even though you had made up your mind because

I too have ADRS for both places and like you also have Twins :rotfl2:(5yrs) and a older boy who is 8 on holiday! so I totally know how you feel about the whole time thing ( I always take my mum so we can get time together) but its her holiday too so dont like her to babysit to often .

we are haveing our Anniversary dinner at Citrocus on the 29th ( we married at Disney ) and the reason we picked it was because of all the amazing reviews!
Totally gutted that everybody seems not to like Le cellier as I have also booked that as read some wonderful reviews on that place and kept hearing that it was so hard to book :( oh well must have gone down hill It BEST pick its self up before we get their :rotfl:

Love both, but if you're foodies, go with Citrico's. Don't miss the Crab Gateau appetizer!!

How can you compare an Apple with an Orange ??
1 credit vs. 2 !
There better be a difference !
