Which would you rather (Aulani)?

1 bedroom with garden/standard view/maybe pool

or

studio with Ocean View

I'm leaning towards 1 bedroom pool

If it is just two people and not more than a week, I'd go with the studio ocean view. I am a big fan of sitting on a deck and looking out on water. If it is more than a week or more than 2 people, I might need the additional space.

I agree the length of the vacation and number of people can make a difference, but overall I would go for the space before the view.

Personally, I would rather walk down and put my toes in the sand, then sit on my balcony and look at the water...

This thread got me thinking about availability at 7 months. I am planning a trip to Aulani, but don't own there. So I am thinking that I'll take whatever view I can get at 7 months. I'm not sure of the break down of the rooms, how many of each etc. Just like standard view at BLT and BWV go first, I'm wondering if it will be the same at Aulani.
But to answer your question, if it is just my DH and I, I def. go for the view. But if our boys are with us, THE EXTRA SPACE!

Standard Studio
Garden Studio
Pool Studio
Ocean Studio

Garde/Pool/Ocean 1 bedroom.

Lots of combos.

yes that is a huge factor. We'll have to see what availability is for Oct but 1 bedroom pool is the leading contender. I'm not going all that way for parking lot view

We're trying to make a similar choice between 1 and 2 bedroom. Almost same points in Oct for 1 bedroom oceanview and 2 bedroom standard view. There are 4 of us but boys are 17 & 12.

I think that the ocean view villas may have a great ocean view while others might have a sliver of an ocean view if you look all the way to your left or right. What I'm trying to say is that in Hawaii ocean views are not always head on sit on your balcony and there's there's the ocean type views. They are more varied than an MK view at BLT. So when we go we are not planning on an ocean view but are opting for a pool view. It's just too many points to get a slight ocean view IMHO.

One option I would consider is getting an pool view studio with a longer stay if it's only the two of you.

That was my wife's thought. After our first trip we'll see.

We would face about a 14 hr flight. No studio for me! If I'm going that far, it will be in a 1-bedroom. I would choose space over view.
