Which would you prefer?

We are going on vacation, and I was thinking of brining some Hawaiian goodies from here such as chocolate covered macadamia nuts.
If you were working at a hotel and recieved this as a gift from Hawaii, what would you think about it?
Would you prefer to recieve a tip or a gift? I know that money is great and everyone loves it, but thought that it might be nice to share something from where we come from to those hotel employees that will help us.

The items would be store bought and well sealed.

I think it would be better to tip them. We can find chocolate macadamia nuts anywhere in California-- Costco carries them much of the time.

Plus some folks don't like chocolate and/or macadamia nuts. However, you could give them as extra-special gifts in addition to the standard tip.

that is a different idea, I like it......just hope that whomever you give chocolate to likes chocolate?? I never thought of something other than money...I like the way you think though.

Maybe you could put a little note on them, like straight from Hawaii or something to that effect?
