Which would you pick?

Our party consists of me, DH, DS (10) DD (8) and DD (23 months) For our 2nd MK day I currently have a 3:50 ADR at Ohana and I keep reading all these bad reviews and my son is 10 so I will be paying the adult price for him to eat a hot dog so I keep thinking I should pick a different place. This is the night before my birthday and since we go home the next day this counts as my birthday dinner. Looking at the Disney app right now I also see available ADRs for Skipper Canteen, LTT, The Wave and Trails End. I know this is a personal decision but I'm wondering out of these choices what would you pick? Somewhere else I should try for? My kids are picky but me and DH are pretty adventurous eaters. Trying to stay close to MK and we are already eating at WCC and BOG on a different day.

I personally wouldn’t eat at ohana if you are going to end up paying the adult price for him to just eat a hot dog. We used the dining plan but I saw how expensive the meal would’ve been by looking at our receipt. LTT might work better for him because it’s pretty standard, homey food. I haven’t eaten at any of the others listed.

Ya I knew he wouldn't eat much when we booked it and if I had some sort of guarantee that the rest of us would have an amazing meal then I wouldn't mind the cost.. but if we have any of the problems I have been reading about then I would be super upset that we wasted that much $$ on a not so great meal

Would keep Ohana. My kids love it.
Have you experienced long waits to be seated or long waits for food? My toddler gets hangry quick and I don't want to take alot of time away from MK.
My son also has a shellfish allergy but I've read all positive things about Ohana handling allergies

Oh okay well if that won’t bother you than I say do it. We were seated pretty fast and the food kept coming at a good rate. The chicken wings, potstickers, and the chicken on the skewer were all delicious!

I was worried after reading reviews too, but we didn’t have any problems. Our meal was at 4:50 ish

We have waited to be seated....but we go around 8.30pm range and that place is backed up by then. Earlier is better. Also we went with nephew who was vegetarian and they were great about preparing food for him. Service can be quick or slow. There are 2 servers that work a section together and they try to keep all tables on same food schedule so they can do skewers at all their tables at same time. So if their section empties and you are one of the 1st tables to be seated then it could be slow as they wait for their section to be fully seated. But with your early time, it shouldn't be bad. Another tip...if you have TIW card, don't tell them until after meal is done. I sometimes wonder if they know that and know they'll get auto 18% tip then they can slack on service.

I'm a fan of Skipper Canteen and The Wave. I find the theming more elaborate at Skipper Canteen, so I'd probably choose that one. In my experience, Ohana can be hit or miss with regard to both service and food.

We ate at the Skipper CAnteen for the first time last week. We did lunch. We really enjoyed it. Plus my picky eater found something that she liked. The sever was able to switch out some of the exotic side dishes for mashed potatoes and green beans.

Tough choice. I'm not a fan of Ohanas. Love Skippers Canteen. But with the group that you have, I think LTT is probably you best bet. Safe, family friendly, comfort food, done well. And a dessert to die for.
Trails End would be a close second.

Ohanas used to be good, a long, long time ago, now it’s truly disappointing. My one pet peeve, hot foods should be hot, cold foods cold, a concept completely lost at Ohanas. They rush you in and out... I would do the Wave. LTT, for lunch only, much better choices, not a fan of the family meal served at dinner, the Mac & Cheese is glop.

We are going to 'Ohana's for the first time this coming trip but have eaten the food they serve via room service several times. It's a must do for the juveniles in our party. Since you have a 3:50 PM ressie and the restaurant opens at 3:30 you'll probably be among the first to be seated so the wait won't be too bad. Just keep in mind that this is NOT the restaurant to check in 15 minutes late since time is of the essence for you and the venue.
That being said if you still want to consider other options out of the choices given I'd opt for the Wave. It's an easy walk to and from MK and has a menu that most would find acceptable.

HTH and have fun.

'oHana is much more of an experience over any of your other choices and is really dinner and entertainment. The others are good restaurants, but restaurants none the less. i would definitely keep 'oHana. We have eaten at all of your choices MANY times and I wouldn't even consider switching.

I agree with this. We have eaten at all of your options and would keep Ohana. A few years back I may have had a hard time comparing with Skippers, but the food was salty and not as good on both our visits last year. The other places are just "ok". I believe you can also request mac & cheese for your son as well at Ohana. Bottom line, since its your birthday and be most memorable for you, you should look at the menu and pick what place looks most appetizing to you. Happy early Birthday!

I would keep Ohana! We liked the food and there is a lot of it and a bit of variety with the wings, pot stickers, meats, noodles, veggies. Maybe your son will find something he likes other than just a hot dog. They bring out food rather quickly so i dont think your toddler will have to wait too long.

I would keep Ohana's. My family eats there twice each trip they love the place so much. The worst thing I can say about is Ohana's is from our 1st meal on our last trip. The amount of desert they brought out was tiny for 6 people but a manager saw what we were dividing up (we were giving the kids everything) and sent out another much larger portion (without being asked).

I would honestly keep Ohana. Disney prides itself on making your experience the best possible. If you have a less than stellar experience and are really dissatisfied I would talk to the manager.

Thanks everyone I'm leaning towards keeping Ohana.. my husband and I are both very non confrontational but if the the food is cold or we have poor service I'm gona have to just suck it up and say something.
