We're going to WDW in October using the DDP and will have 6 credits. I have two extra ADRs booked than we have credits for.

Which of the following would you pay out of pocket for?

Breakfast
Boma
Cape May Cafe
Kona Cafe

Lunch
San Angel Inn

Dinner
CRT
O'Hana
50's Prime Time Cafe (might get rid of this)

I'd look at the menus & figure up which was cheapest & do those.
For us the ones on your list for us would be to do the Kona breakfast & San Angel Inn at lunch OOP.

When we go I've 3 extra ADR's right now if we don't cancel some of them. We are doing Kona breakfast & CP breakfast & Tusker House breakfast all OOP. Saving the credits for Coral Reef, LeCellier 2 times, Ohana 2 times & Teppon Edo. We might drop one OOP if so will do CP on the credit.

I was always under the impression that CRT is not the best value either but you can go to allears and check the pricing

but,
it might be cheaper to pay oop for crt than two other TS

Its going to be about $149 including tax and tip oop Im assuming 2 adults one kid? at crt

kona breakfast (2 entrees, 2 drinks and kids food)would be about $45 and tax (?) and tip $9 so $64 (?)

and san angel inn would probably about the same but only you know what you are going to pick to eat

Cape may is the cheapest according to allears - $50 for breakfast for 2 adults and a child - it's one of our oop's.

I sat down with allears and priced what we would probably order - we're paying oop for the cheapest - sci fi lunch, cape may breakfast and tusker breakfast.

I always make an extra ADR or two. Sometimes, you might get caught in a storm or have a big change in plans from someone getting sick, and you wind up unable to use them all.

I'd say Kona and whichever fixed price buffet is cheaper (Cape May or Boma).

IMO, if you have to pay OOP for a meal it is usually best to do so with a meal like a buffet or dinner show that has a set price - for me it makes budgeting easier.

If you get rid of 50's that leaves you needing 7 TS credits. You have 6 so you just need to pay for one meal. DO NOT PAY OOP for CRT. That will cost you $50 or so for an adult.

Pay OOP for Boma. Cost for that is under $20 per adult. It is the least expensive on your list.

For a child choose one of the non buffet table service meals to pay for. Buffets are the most expensive child meals. A typical child meal is $7-8, but even Boma buffet is $10 or so for a child.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I was figuring out the costs but also wanted to see what others would do. Yes, it is two adults and one child.

I think I've decided I'm going to pay oop for Kona and probably Boma. I still have to pay oop for two ADRs, because CRT is 2 credits. Since the coffee press at Boma and Kona are no longer included in the DDP, I would have had to pay for them anyway so I'll just pay for the meals too.

Again, thank you so much for all the suggestions.

I would think breakfast is the xheapest meal of the day.

Breakfast at Kona Cafe is pretty inexpensive. Pay oop for that.

While CRT isn't the best value on the dining plan, it does include the tip.

with your choices def Kona for breakfast. I paid OOP last trip for three and it was high for seven days but not as high as took as imagined. 1100 ooP

Pay OOP for CRT. For us it was cheaper. It was about $138 with the tip. Two breakfasts would have been about $65 each and then we had to add a tip in.
