sorry me again

Can get the Santa Fe for 4 nights (only one day has EMH) for £149, or one of the selected hotels with a pool in November for about £240. The parks close early so thought it might be nice having a pool for the evening. What do you think. Apart from the price, is there anything else the Santa Fe offers?

Can you use pool facilities in other Disney hotels?

Thanks

hmm thats a big difference in price isnt it?
i would just go for the santa fe personally and stay onsite.
u always have the bar at the hotel and disney village which has loads going on.
as for using the pool at other disney hotels, to be honest i dont think you can... but dont quote me on that!
besides, disney often closes the pools during the xmas season for refurbishments.

Its a strict policy of Disney that you may only use the pool of the hotel that you stay in. It has something to do with insurance.

But instead of using the pool you can go ice skating in front of hotel New York and its so lovely.

The Santa Fe has a family-friendly bar area, and the occasional visit from Goofy in the evenings, and for such a difference in price, I'd definitely go for the Santa Fe. You automatically get EMH, and you could also get GMF breakfast in the park, instead of breakfast at the hotel.

I like onsite, because I like knowing that I don't have to rely on a shuttle bus to get to and from the parks. I also find that I couldn't care less about the swimming pool once I'm there, there just doesn't seem to be time. You can also make reservations for some meals once the park has closed - that will use up some of the evening.

Having said that, there is a big difference in price. I think that it really comes down to something as simple as which hotel you would prefer to spend time in :)

If you stay on Santa Fe, you can walk home which is nice after a long day. We are going in dec and staying at Santa Fe. We only get one EMH as well, but we would never concider staying offside...

I would always choose onsite, which is a little unfair I know having never stayed offsite.
Are you saying that SF is the only Disney hotel available ? If not and you have a choice then I would pay the little bit extra and go for the Cheyenne though.
As far as the swimming pool goes, even when we stayed for almost a week at the NPB and the parks closed early we still didn't make it the the pool, we spend as much time as possible in the parks and then book a nice restaurant for the evening. :)

Cheyenne is full, and Sequioa is about twice the price, so its Santa Fe, or a selected hotel.

Then I'd stick with the Santa Fe :thumbsup2
and use the money you save as extra spending money or book a nice meal, or the Buffalo Bill show.:goodvibes

DOH!! I've just re-read your post and realised that the Santa Fe is the cheaper option - I assumed it was the other way round!!!

In which case I would definitely go with the Santa Fe :thumbsup2

I'd stay onsite. Santa Fe is really quite children friendly. And like others have said: you can go ice skating :)
Also, the pools close quite early in winter, so it's probably really not worth paying that much more just for a pool.
There's plenty of things to do with children anyway, you could even take them to Disney Village and catch a movie :)
Or go bowling or to the arcade.
And if push comes to shove, there's Disney Channel on the TV :)

:confused3 Oh my god are these people stupid!

Rang back to book the Santa Fe, and they are now saying that 26 November is a blackout period for the Fantasy pass, and that they cant offer me room only - I have to buy all the passes again! £576!

I got info with the pass, and this is definitely not down as a blackout date!

Am getting really frustrated with these people!

Can anyone confirm if its a blackout date!

According to the information that I have from the 2007 AP brochure there aren't any black-out dates in 2007 for September.
I think it would be best to state that to them, the page of the brochure and everything so they can't get around it.

I would like to apologise profoundly for the size of this image, but you won't be able to read it in any of the smaller sizes :(

Will try ringing again this evening. Rang two people today and they both said the same thing. I know there are selected dates were there is a 10% discount with the Fantasy, but does that mean on other dates the rooms have to be booked with all the passes?! That Room only without the discount is not available?

According to DLRP Magic, 26th November is definitely not a Fantasy pass blackout day.

Do they maybe mean there are no more rooms available at that time at the Fantasy pass discount rate?

I'm sure you should be able to get a room-only price though, even if there are no more discount rooms available.

Looks like you might have to persevere until you get a CM who understands and knows what you want.

Yeah I rang yesterday and got 3 very different prices from 3 different members, and now this!

And no, they said that it was a blackout period for the Fantasy pass, that i could not book room only that week, but I could with the Dream pass!

Just checked the official website and these are the Fantasy Pass blackout dates 2007

13 au 17 août inclus
28 au 31 octobre inclus

Could they have misheared you as I notice 26th December is a blackout.

Its possible, was actually thinking that, but find it unlikely that 2 different CMs would've misheard the same thing?!
