On our AK park day... would you go from ASSp to Chef Mickeys for a 7:20 breakfast ADR and then head to AK in hopes of making rope drop OR make rope drop and then eat Donalds Safari breakfast at 10:25 (more of a lunch with breakfast food)?

Is it too much to try to get from ASSp to Chef Mickey's and then to AK before 9am?

Would we have enough time from 9am rope drop to 10:25 ADR's to do a few rides/collect a few fast passes? Or would we be wasting our morning?

This is also our first morning there (1st character meal ever for the kids)would the kids enjoy CM or Donalds better?

I would be in a grumpy mood after being on the buses most of the morning, honestly. That's a lot of travel time just for some eggs with Mickey. If you were staying at the CR or anywhere on the monorail I think it'd be fine. But you'd have to leave mighty early to travel over there and then wait again on another bus and race to AK.

The more relaxing and enjoyable thing would be to head to the park first thing, ride something exciting, then stop and have a nice brunch before going right back out and enjoying your day.

I will be honest and say that I really hate the bus system and find it wastes a lot of precious vacation time for me so if you love the buses, you may not mind all the travel time.

I think going to Chef Mickey would be too much hassle, so I would choose Tusker House. However, I have read a few reports from people with late breakfast reservations that they had to wait for quite a while to be seated and then had only a very short time with the characters. Perhaps an ADR for 10 am would be better? You could still get some rides if you are there for rope drop, and most importantly: get a Fastpass for something before you go to breakfast!

Have you thought about getting an ADR for 8 am at Tusker House? This way you can eat before the park opens and then still get an early start for the day. If you do this, one tip is to ask for the check already when you sit down, so you don't have to wait for it at the end of the meal.

I wouldn't do Chef Mickey's. I would go w/ Tusker House. And, like flossbolna said, even though I find that you have to wait a little longer for the later ressie times, I think you actually get more time w/ the characters. For example, we had a 10:30 ressie at Chef Mickey's before and, while we waited about 20-25 minutes for our table, we had A LOT of time and interaction w/ the characters. They came around to our table several times and since there weren't as many people in the restaurant, there was more time for US! We also didn't feel rushed to get out. We were there for about 1-1/2 hours, got lots to eat, and had plenty of fun character time. Have fun!

Thanks everyone!

The times I mentioned are the only times available. My first choice would be super early at Tusker House, so I'll keep calling to see if it comes available!

That would be great about extra time with the characters for the later ADR, but everything I read says not to waste precious morning hours with a sit down meal... I don't know... it's all too confusing! LOL

I wouldn't do either, honestly. I'd grab a quick snack-breakfast at the food court, do rope drop at Animal Kingdom, hit Flame Tree for a good CS lunch, and make it an early day. Then after a bit of an afternoon rest, I'd plan Chef Mickeys for dinner that evening. That way you won't be stressed over how long it takes for all the characters to come around and you'll be able to relax and enjoy your meal without thinking of everything else you want to get to before the crowds build! Chef Mickeys is a lot of fun and it would be a shame to rush through it.

We did a late breakfast at Tusker House last trip and it was great!
We got to do a few rides before breakfast.
