Hi all!! I have way too many dinner plans for our trip next May and am obsessing over them. lol. Which one would you cut based solely on our family dynamic and your experiences? Let's forget about price for the moment....

Myself, DH, DD6, DS4 and my inlaws

Chef Mickeys -
Ohana
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Biergarten
Cape May Cafe

I welcome any/all input!! Thanks!!

I would cut Chef Mickey's because it's terrible.

I would definitely keep 'Ohana. Everyone will have a blast and the food is great.

I would consider cutting Whispering Canyon depending on what your other plans for the day are.

I would probably cut Biergarten because I prefer to spend my time in Epcot snacking around the world. But if you really want a table service meal in Epcot, keep it.

I would probably keep Cape May, but it would depend on the other plans for the day.

Chef Mickeys, but it's been a while. When my kids were younger, we went for dinner and it was pretty gross.....and we are not a picky bunch. The breakfast there is much better. However, like I said, that was years ago.

My concern with cutting Chef Mickey is that my kids are little and the only other character meal we are planning is Askershus.

We are currently booked at Wilderness Lodge but hoping to switch to the Poly when we hit the 7 month mark (DVC). If we switch to the Poly maybe I'll see if I can get an 8:00 breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our second Epcot day...

I've eaten at Biergarten and to be honest, it wasn't my favorite (although the tomato soup was excellent) but my kids REALLY loved dancing along with the band...
O'hana is the one I'm most excited about. We have never eaten there and I think it looks awesome.

Decisions...Decisions... # First World Problems...lol

I would change Chef Mickey to The Crystal Palace, fun Pooh characters and good food both at breakfast & later

Cut Chef Mickey!!! Worst by far! If you really want those characters, add in Tusker House instead.

If Cape May is dinner, definitely cut that as well. Our seafood eaters didn't think the seafood was at all edible. And the rest of has had very few choices.

Have never done Biergarten, but the menu just doesn't appeal to us.

Loved 'Ohana, would definitely keep that. Food is great and the kids will have a blast.

Whispering Canyon is okay. Could easily live without it.

Chef Mickey's grossed me out! The food wasn't impressive at all (we aren't picky eaters) AND because of the monorail there were birds too close to comfort. Birds outside are good but not inside. We also sat in a spot that made it hard to take pictures of characters.

Could you go to Cape May for breakfast to see characters?

EDIT: didn't have enough coffee, missed a couple of words... oops!

We were just went to Biergarten and are not a fan of the food. The entertainment was really good. We are more picky eaters though. We had a bad experience at Chef Mickey's with the characters. This was about 4 years ago when my kids were 4 and 5. We just went to Whispering Canyon and we had a lot of fun and the food was really good. My son (9) got a big kick out of it. If you go their try to book a 5 pm dinner time. While I was in the bathroom with my daughter my son got to open the restaurant. I missed it but he said he got to ring a big triangle and yell come and get it.

Keep 'Ohana for sure. Everyone will have a great time and love the food.

Strongly consider cutting Chef Mickey. The advice to add Crystal Palace or Tusker House for Characters is good. Also consider the new Harvest Breakfast with Chip and Dale at Epcot. While in Epcot, there is a private Meet and Greet for Chase Disney Visa cardholders (you can get one with no fee, so it costs you nothing).

Whispering Canyon is okay, but if you switch to the Poly change your ADR to Kona Cafe and order the Tonga Toast for breakfast!

Biergarten is good. A bit noisy, but fun. The World Showcase has lots of good food options.

I have never been to Cape May, so I will bow to others here who have eaten there.

I have most of the same dinners planned for our trip coming up and two of my three kids are the same age as yours. They all look like great picks to me.

I know a lot of people would drop Chef Mickey's because of the food, and they are probably right, but you don't go to CM for the food. I would keep that one because of your kids ages. I had the same dilemma and kept ours, since I know my kids would be disappointed if we didn't go there to see the characters.

Ohana looks great. I would keep that one if it works out with your schedule.

I think I would probably drop Whispering Canyon Café, unless I was staying at the WL lodge. My kids get embarrassed easily.

My kids have requested Biergarten, but they love pork and sausage. If your family doesn't like that kind of food or communal seating, I would drop that one.

We love seafood and are staying at the Beach Club, so Cape May Café is a must for us. If those two things don't apply to your family, I would think about losing this one.

Have fun!

Other options for EPCOT is Teppen Edo or Garden Grill. Teppen Edo is in Japan and is an hibachi place. 2 weeks ago was the first time we ate their. My kids who are picky ate so much food their and they loved watching the food cook in front of us. It will be one we go back to. Garden Grill was not bad and they have Chip N Dale and Mickey. I can't remember who else. The kids didn't eat much but my husband and I thought it was good. Not great but good. We have been to Crystal Palace in MK a few times. The Winnie the Pooh and Characters were great and the food was pretty good.

You have a lot of AYCTE and Buffets there. I would ditch WCC. It was or least favorite meal the one time we ate there.

I know that CM has mixed reviews but I think it is okay. If you get rid of it, I would consider Garden Grill in Epcot. The character interaction is really nice and much more relaxed than the rest of the character meals in my opinion. Also, you do not need to leave the table to get your food, which was a plus for us.

I would keep 'Ohana. It is a tough one to get and while our last meal there was the worst of the trip, that was an anomaly. It usually is a good meal.

Cape May was okay for us, but we never were inclined to go back. Kind of "it was nice that we went but no way we want to return".

I would keep Ohana.

I would cut Chef Mickey's and keep Cape May BREAKFAST for characters. You can do that on your second Epcot day since the BC is walking distance to Epcot. It's mostly the same characters. We just had an awesome dinner at Chef Mickey's a few weeks ago. I've done dinner twice and breakfast once and never a bad meal. I don't go for the food or characters though. We go because it is DS15 ONLY request all trip. Seriously the kid barely asks for anything in life. The price is crazy. We spent $200 with tip for the four of us. Cape May is cheaper so I would cut Chef Mickey's.

Whispering Canyon does nothing for me. I've never been but the menu is just eh for me.

I would cut Biergarten. We spent 3 nights in Epcot and never had a dinner ADR. We just snacked around the world. It was awesome.

Chef Mickeys - Cut
Ohana - Unlike others, not a fan = Cut
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Haven't been there in years, your choice.
Biergarten - no opinion.
Cape May Cafe - no opinion.

Thinking back to when my kids were young, they loved Chef Mickeys, but breakfast ONLY. If your ADR is for dinner, I would cut it.

At those ages, my kids didn't like WCC. They weren't fans of the food or the antics.

They also didn't love the loudness and food choices of Biergarten when they were young, but love it now. Since your kids loved the music and dancing, I would keep it.

I think Chef Mickey's is one of those meals everyone should do once, but our last couple of meals here the food really did seem to go a bit downhill. We've skipped it since as it's just not worth the price for us anymore. Biergarten is our must do every trip so I wouldn't drop that one. They have a lot of variety and the food is always good. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and the entertainment is great. I'm not sure if you have booked breakfasts or dinners, but we did Cape May and Ohana breakfast and Cape May was much better IMO.

Cape May Cafe dinner unless staying at resort in that area. It is not the easiest to get to, and it's just a Red Lobster quality buffet in a slightly beachy atmosphere. There is really nothing special about it.

Chef Mickey-wasn't the best dinner ever, but I would have at least one "Mickey" meal with kids that age

WCC-Never been, but haven't heard rave reviews. I mean it looks fun, but with kids that age, I would limit having to go all over the place just to eat dinner. So if I wasn't staying at WL, I would skip it (obviously, we have skipped it 4 times and have 2 more trips planned without it)

Ohana-we really liked going there, especially with in-laws. I love the Poly.

Biergarten. We had lunch there, and our kids just didn't really get into it. I thought the atmosphere was neat. Sitting with people who ignored us was kind of odd. It wasn't bad, it was neat to do once, but I am not rushing back. Also, I try to limit buffets with kids. I hate getting up and down 300 times, and while we found things to eat, it wasn't the most kid friendly food buffet.

I would cut Cape May just because I got really sick eating there one time, plus not a fan of buffets
