If you were making a choice between the regular Western 7 night or the 2 stops at Castaway Cay, which would you choose? Would you rather go to Grand Cayman or have a 2nd day at Castaway Cay?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

I would choose the 2 Stops at CC...

Reasons being. I hate the tendering part, makes me VERY nervous with the little ones.. ANd if by some chance (been there, done that) you miss CC, you have the second chance to make it in...

Just seems rather fun to me... :goodvibes

Our next cruise is a Castaway Cay double dip so I quess we would choose that! :cool1:

Double CC. I'd be happy with 7 days of CC and nothing else though. :goodvibes

It depends... I would think most who want to double dip have cruised DCL before. Do you REALLY enjoy going to the beach? If so, you may want to DD. The cost to DD is also quite a bit more than just the normal Western. I would take either! BUT the cost is what would keep me away from the DD cruises.

No question DD! We got a great rate & weren't impressed with GC last year at all. It will be nice to see a new port too.

Double Dip. Remember that most things on CC are included in your price, but GC activities will likely cost you more money. Plus I just really enjoyed our days on CC!

Definately the two stops at CC - we have one booked for May '06. Personally I wish they had kept Grand Cayman and skipped Cozumel. I'm looking forward to seeing Costa Maya.

Castaway. I've sailed on the regular Western twice and we've never been to Grand Cayman. It is a tender port, and if the sea is rough, you can't get in. We've always made it in to Castaway 12 for 12.

I love GC too, but I would choose to double dip. CC is just so darned relaxing. You just step off of the ship and you are there with nothing but fellow vacationers and CMs surrounding you.

I wanted to do the May 06 double dip, but prices were too high by the time I was ready to book, so I'm doing the regular Western again - which will be great - but i sure wish we had that 2nd stop at CC!

I also vote for two stops at CC but agree that it would have been nice to drop Cozumel instead of Grand Cayman.

Thanks for the replies! You've made this choice a lot easier. I do like the idea that most things are included at CC - will probably save us money in the long run!

I would also vote for the Double Dip cruise. But I don't know if anyone had been to Grand Cayman since Ivan last year. GC was getting out info that they were back to normal pretty quickly and I've heard stories that they are still not back to normal with some attractions still not planning on opening for a long time.

Last December GC was still pretty torn up from Ivan and Cozumel was a mess because their main road along the water was torn up from construction which made it miserable to try to walk along the sidewalk (that had holes covered up with plywood) to shop at all, especially with a stroller. We will skip that stop and stay on the ship next year if it hasn't gotten any better. It had been like that for almost 10 months already.

We have been on 3 eastern and want to try the western, so i would say the western.. Also, we are not laying around in the hammock beach people, so 2 stops at Castaway cay doesn't appeal to us..

CC hands down, without a moments thought. I think CC is one of the best parts of the whole DCL experience!
