Which Would You Choose?

Because of problems with DH's work schedule we may have to skip our planned January trip and just extend our July trip. In-Laws have decided to still come with us in July instead. We've only stayed deluxe. They will never want to spend that kind of money and DH wants to stay in the same resort as them. So here are the choices:

In-laws are only staying 7 nights.

SHould we:

1) Go for CBR for 7 nights (put one of our children in in-laws room) with MYW (10 day park hopper/plus package) and 7 day dining and then go over to the Poly for 4 or 5 days (room only);

2.) Go to POR for the whole 10 days since we can have all 5 of us in one room there and do the MYW 10 day park hopper/plus package with 10 days dining; or

3) Go to CBR for 10 nights (one of the kids in in-laws room and then we would take over the second room) 10 day park hopper/plus package 10 day dining. Now since we would have one child in their room and everyone has to be on the same package CRO told me that when are in-laws left we could still use their meal plan so we would have 6 extra ts, cs and snacks.

I'm leaning toward CBR and Poly. A lot of people seem to love POR though. POR would be the cheapest option, the other two run about the same amount. I need advice. THanks.

Whichever option you choose, I would recommend you make a room-only reservation at the resort where you'd really like to stay. That way, if your in-laws decide not to come you can convert that room-only into the package you wanted originally.

My ex in-laws would often express an interest in joining us on vacations. I would plan our vacation according to their desires rather than our desires and then they'd opt out at the last minute. I have no idea if your in-laws are like that, just a precautionary suggestion on my part.

Have a great trip, regardless!!

Have you thought about a home away from home resort? You could stay altogether in a 2 bedroom and have the full kitchen to have meals in, of setting the cost of the room. Plus its great in the summertime. We built lunch and quiet time into our stay at OKW in August. It was a great way to beat the heat and browds during the summer. Since the parks are open late theres no pressure to stick it out all day. Plus with a living room you can put the kids to bed and still be up and active.

If you really want to be budget minded, you could even rent points for this from a DVC member.

No home away from home for us because I'd be afraid my mother-in-law would want to cook meals and a vacation for me is no cooking, no cleaning!

Still looking for best options.

Forget the five in one room thing-Go with the CBR and then the Poly. Keep your sanity and have separate rooms. I am sure your in laws are wonderful people, so are mine but I would not want to spend a week in a hotel room with them.

Sorry I meant the five of us me, DH, 2 dds and ds. No I don't want to spend a week in a hotel room with anyone else! I think we are definitely going to do a week in CBR and five days either at Poly or GF. We had problems with GF mousekeeping and are thinking of trying the Poly this time but the GF keeps calling me when I see the pictures.

Would everyone prefer the CBR over POR?
