Which would you choose?

Planning a January trip and trying to decide between 5 nights/6 days at Port Orleans French Quarter or 6 nights/7 days at All Star Music preferred room. I've stay at other values before and other moderates but neither of these. I've always wanted to stay at French Quarter because of its small size but all would be great to have more time at Disney. Give me your opinions please!

This is hard because POFQ is my favorite resort on property, but more days are always better.

I'd still probably pick POFQ. I just love the theming and the small size of the resort. And beignets. :)

What about a split stay?

I e never stayed at All stars but stayed at POFQ last year. It is a very cute resort. And like someone else said Beignets!!!!

My first question OP is, do you spend all your time in the parks or do you spend a lot of time at your resort? If you are spending your time in the parks, it makes sense to spend less on the room and stay the extra day. If you spend a lot of time at the resort, you may enjoy the larger room size and pool amenities of a moderate over a value. POFQ feels more adult than All Star Music, although I enjoy the theming at both. Since you say you have stayed at both values and moderates before, think about the things you liked, and did not like, about those experiences before deciding.

I have stayed at both resorts a lot. I always end up spending more time at the resort when staying at POFQ than I do at All Star Music. I am also more likely to spend time at DS when staying at POFQ, since getting there is so convenient. Bus service at both is fine, so I can’t say that factors into my decision to stay at one over the other. You just need to think about what you want to get out of your resort on this trip. That is something only you know.

I agree completely with fla4fun! But, if you want a vote/opinion: I would stay at ASMu for the extra day in a preferred room. I really like ASMU, and, well, it's an extra whole day on a fairly short trip! POFQ is very nice, but not enough nicer than ASMu to offset an extra day, IMO.

I vote ASMu for the extra night IF it will get you an extra day in the parks. I found the jump from ASMu to POFQ to not be worth it price wise personally, still a small room, still a noisy as all get out window AC, might as well save the dough and go value was my ultimate conclusion after 4 nights at POFQ. (Yeah I know “but the boat to DS!” …sucked. Was a long ride and drops you at an end of DS instead of the middle where buses drop. We switched to the POFQ DS bus lol- which was actually better because it was quick to arrive and we were like the only ones on it,)

Have you considered Pop? Skyliner access to DHS/EP is pretty sweet…

If you're rope-drop-to-park-close people I'd say ASMu
If your trip is a bit more chilled and you'll spend time at the resort then POFQ

We love POFQ and think it's well worth the upgrade, BUT, for us, more time always beats resort choice :teeth: I forgot to mention that like gottalovepluto mentioned, we would take POP over AS's

Well not a hard choice for me. I love FQ but an extra night at Disney always wins. And like someone else mentioned a standard room at Pop isn't that much more than a preferred room at Music so if I had a choice Pop would win for sure. But if that's not an option the extra night at Music would be my choice.
