So we're going back for the 4th time this year in December. My wife and I have a 3 year old son who loves the parks but there hasn't been an opportunity for us to do any activities without him. This trip my wife's family is meeting us down there also. We want to do something just us and send the boy with the grandparents for a few. Questi9n us do we do a nice lunch at Blue Bayou? Or do we do a tour? Walk in Walts Footsteps? Holiday tour? So undecided.

I've done both the WIWF and the Holiday Tour this year - I'd absolutely take the holiday tour over the WIWF tour any day. Unless you REALLY want to see the Dream Suite... The holiday tour was really great last year (subject to change for this year, I guess though), you get some nice info about the park's decorations, a ride on all the christmas overlay rides, plus a little holiday treat, then cocoa and seating for the christmas parade - which really is a nice luxury.

If you want to do a meal, I'd take Carthay over Blue Bayou - what about the WoC lunch or dinner and then go to the show?

Enjoy!

Hmm decisions decisions. The tours are literally one of the lasts things we haven't done at the park. Wife has never been to Blue Bayou. Neither of us at Carthay. Also she is a vegetarian so the options sometimes are very limited.

In vegan and had a really delicious meal at Blue Bayou. I would go there again, knowing there is something good on the menu.

I'd say it depends on the type of adult-time experience you want. If you want a relaxed and quite meal where you and your spouse can enjoy a full uninterrupted conversation and a good glass of wine then I would do Carthay Circle or Napa Rose. If you want some super fun with your adult beverage and meal in an immersive theme environment then I would do Trader Sam's. If you are not drinkers and like being in the parks best of all, then BB is a really unique restaurant and I am sure your wife would like it if she hasn't been there yet and enjoys POC. As for tours, they are an entirely different type of experience. You will get some great new info on the parks and learn a lot from the CM guide (and have fun), but you will be in a group. So just know that if your goal is quality one-on-one time with your spouse, the tour is not that.

Thanks for the heads up guys. And ya no drinks for me. Coming up on 7 years sober this December. Well I'm leaning towards lunch at Blue Bayou it seems

Bravo on the 7 years of sobriety. :) I think I would opt for a nice meal, maybe Napa Rose.

The first time my wife and I got some alone time (thanks to grandparents) we did BluBayou and thats about all we had time. We've since had alone time a couple of more times and just like to do "us" stuff. Ride the rides we love and see the stuff we love. Doesn't cost as much and we love just enjoying the parks for a couple of hours!

Honestly, I would just carve out some time to do the attractions you two want to do without any compromises! DH and I have done some adult trips and it is sooo fun to laugh and play and do exactly what we wanted to do without having to consider or compromise for the kids. Have fun!!!

Cathay circle has few options for veg. I prefer BB.

We did BB & some rides. It was relaxing to be in the park again with no kids!
